Towleroad Guide to the Tube #254
TIMES SQUARE EXPLOSION: A morning report on the IED that went off today in Times Square. A new video shows a suspicious bicyclist leaving the scene. CCTV video.
ANTI-LGBT HATE CRIMES 2008: Put together by Fight Out Loud.
DAVID COOK: His rendition of "Hello" from Tuesday night's American Idol. Lionel Richie responded to the cover, saying: "I'm putting that song out there tomorrow myself with David on it. That is a smash record that David did the other night. I couldn't believe it...David just played it as If it was his song from the beginning as if there was no Lionel Richie involved...he just killed it."
JANET JACKSON: Her new video for "Rock with U".

I think that about 90% of the times I want to watch one of the videos posted here, that video is "no longer available." That's so frustrating!

I mentioned this on Logo's NewNowNext blog but I wanted to ask here. Does anyone else see a little Justin Timberlake allusion in Janet's new video. Look toward the end when Janet is kissing one of the dancers against a wall.
Doesn't it look like Justin on his "Future Sex..." album cover? Or is it just me? Do I need to let it go?

Justin Timberlake has his foot in EVERYTHING nowadays. Just recently I heard he's in Madonna's new song and Gnarls Barkley's new music video.
I need to let it go.

Kirk you may just need to refresh the page. YouTube videos display that message now if they have been sitting idle on an open page for awhile.

Waymon Hudson, who created the video of gay, hate crime deaths in 2008, collaborates with us and sits on our Advisory Board. He is doing wonderful work in South Florida.
Help us help each other, and you, by visiting www.fightoutloud.com and ww.gayamericanheroes.com and do what you may to help us both "Stop the Hate in 2008."
Thanks,

Justin is on Madonna's four minutes to sav the world. Unfortunately its horrible. The beat drowns out most of the lyrics.

The Times Square bombing as led me to the following conclusion. There's been a lot of talk in this campaign about "grassroots." There's more and more talk of the benefits of a combined H&O ticket. Some have said one or the other of them would never agree, but I've not seen anyone say it is a bad idea.
This morning's bombing in NYC, no matter how unrelated it will probably turn out to be to "organized terrorists," reminds us of the kinds of things that could happen between now and November to convert a doddering old warmonger like McCain into someone the majority of voters, regardless of any present support for a Democrat, think is the best person to "protect us."
I respectfully urge each of you to start e-mailing both the Clinton and Obama camps, as well as the DNC, and demanding a joint ticket. You can state your preference for which would be better "on top," but the important thing is the two together—combining their unique strengths and huge groups of supporters to defeat anything that Fate and the Rovians might throw at us.

You have nothing to lose but a few minutes of your time—and a new world to gain.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead
"Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people." - Martin Luther King, Jr.
"We must be the change we wish to see in the world." - Gandhi

With all the cameras they have in Times Square it's amazing this is the best camera view they got. I also find it funny that it took our mayor all morning and afternoon to finally grace us with his presence and make a statement. Ray Kelly was also so informative as always " A man on a bike with a hoddie", I guess we can narrow it down to about a billion food delivery men.

I can't believe you keep posting these American Idol clips; that you keep saying they are good; and that I keep watching them like a fool. Please, please get a real music editor over at Towleroad.com! This stuff -- seriously -- is crap. Forget the election [not really, I'm being histrionic]: if we lose decent American music, we are going to lose our souls.
