Queer As Folk's Gale Harold Hits Desperate Housewives

Gale_harold

[WARNING: SPOILERS]

As had been predicted, Desperate Housewives coughed up a juicy closing sequence in its season finale last night, which included an appearance by Queer as Folk's Gale Harold.

Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...

I think it could have used a few more shocking changes (the fact that Gabrielle is mother to two spoiled brats is more than predictable) but I do think the turn could provide the show with some much-needed upheaval.

  1. I nearly spilled my martini when I saw Gale in the closing scene, should be interesting on how his character gets involved. Loved the ending, especially with Gabby looking like a house frau.

  2. So do we know if the show will start next season, five years later, or for the next 5 tv seasons lead up to it?

If they start 5 years later, I'm thinking they might save some money with salaries of workers...just a thought.

  3. hells to the naw. why do they continue to insist that terri hatcher should have attractive boyfriends? why any boyfriends?

  4. We'd all heard about the fast forward...but Susan's new husband was a shock and perhaps a wink at the gay fanbase of DH. I wondered if Carlos is still around...as we didn't see him Casa Solis.

  5. I hope Mike Delfino is not gone for good! Gale is nice, but I love the rough trade. Good to see Andrew's character back too, I hope that storyline gets expanded. Gabby as house frau and Lynette with delinquient teenagers was predictable. Glad the little bitch daughter is gone, tho!! I hope Carlos has his sight back in 5 years because that storyline was pretty lame.

    Can't wait for next season!

  6. Should he be a "Housewives" regular next season one can only hope that Mr Harold has taken some crash course acting lessons.

As was the case with most of the cast his stint on the Queer as Folk was an embarrassment to the profession. The show was a stinker!

  7. Oh! I thought she was kissing Nathan Filion! They could be brothers!

  8. Gale is so hot, and that was a shocker! Susan is one lucky dumb bitch.

Loved Bree's storyline. She must be on the way to be the next Martha (she's already got the robot quality down). She did look awesome, tho', and I'm also glad Andrew is still there.

Poor Lynette, she's just a trainwreck. Hilarious, though. Glad they got rid of the psychopath daughter, but I bet she'll come back at some point.

  9. I loved it. Love that Katherine is staying. But what I REALLY would have loved was if Lee of the gay couple, was at the poker night... Lee is a shoe-in to become a desperate housewive.

  10. Much needed upheaval? I don't think so.

Can you say "Jump the shark?"

  11. I do think it is odd that Marc Cherry went to all the trouble of building up the commitment ceremony plot (even including Tom's wonderful monologue about couples facing the really hard stuff that life throws at you) and then DOESN'T SHOW IT. I suspect it was filmed and then deleted for time, but they could have cut out some Susan scenes (please!) and included it...

  12. Andy, I *really* wish you would stop covering Marc Log-Cabin-Republican Cherry's tired soap opera. Publicity for his show means more people will tune in which means more money for Cherry which means more money in Republican coffers. In November 2007, Cherry gave $2,300 to Giuliani who famously stated his opposition to marriage equality in his failed bid for U.S. President. Cherry would not have had that money had it not been for the popularity of his television show. Do we really have to contribute to his success?

  13. This show became so unbearable to me that I don't even know who that new woman is. I'm glad that Andrew is no longer a delinquent and slightly surprised that all the women agreed to look older (except Susan, who pretty much made me stop watching).

Anyway, no one promoting a cookbook would turn down a call from the New York Times.

  14. wasn't this the guy on QAF who was supposed to be some sex-appeal god everyone lusted madly after? that never for one minute made sense to me. sure, he's good-looking. but the only thing remarkable about him was how insufferably arrogant he was.

  15. Is Marc Cherry REALLY gay?

A Republican after 8 years of dubya? Please....that's enough to convert ANYONE.

And the cliched gay story line? Why would any self-respecting gay continue to use such stereotypical scenes?

The perfect house is certainly a stereotype. You know how many tricks I've been to that live like serial killers (Pizza boxes on the floor from 5 years ago, etc)

  18. Did anyone stop to think this might just be a dream by one of the housewives? After all they are desperate.

  19. I cant wait until next season, I LOVE Gale (though the scenes will be nowhere as sexy/intense as the Brian/Justin scenes... Randy Harrison should make a guest appearance lol, as like a cable guy, or an old acquaintance of Gale's character)

  20. I love Gale and am so happy to see him on tv again! I hear he may only be on 5 episodes which is very depressing. I hope he gets his own series!
