2(x)ist Passes Mario Lopez Over for Bicep Rival Nick Adams
Page Six reports today that the behind-the-scenes feud between A Chorus Line's Mario Lopez and co-star Nick Adams that began when Lopez allegedly requested that Adams cover up in their scenes together as to avoid being upstaged, has been taken one step further:
"Now the rivalry between the hunks has been pumped up with word that the men's-underwear company 2(x)ist has decided it wants Adams front and center in a shirtless ad and that it passed over Lopez. 'Mario was originally No. 1 on our radar as we planned the campaign,' said an insider. 'We were ready to call him with an offer, but then we saw Nick. He's younger, sexy, more interesting. On top of that, his body was crazy. We set up a meeting, and when he walked in, that was it. We never even looked at anyone else after that.' Jason Scarlatti, 2(x)ist's creative director, gave final approval. He told us, 'Nick's very masculine, sexy, modern. It's totally all about his body. Mario is a good-looking guy, but Nick had it. He's up and coming, the new face of sexy. He's original. He's hot.' The ad campaign was shot in one day at Via Della Pace restaurant in the East Village. The series of shots shows Adams in an unbuttoned tuxedo shirt, a bow tie and underwear. It will appear in Out's August issue first and then in other magazines."

Is it just me, or have all the gay boys in Broadway shows (like, for instance, Nick Adams) suddenly disappeared from sites like Connexion/Gay.com/et. al.? Pressure from their bosses, maybe?

and what is this lunacy that they're picking the "younger" guy? 35 isn't young? oh wait. are the people who choose models for 2xist over 25? oh. never mind.

Interesting perspective, Nic. I was thinking the same thing about Butte County in California. They are the ones that halted gay marriages by refusing to marry everybody.

I just saw Mario in A Chorus Line and Nick is no longer covering up. After the show I got a close up look at Mario on the sidewalk and his biceps ARE fabulous. He is also incredibly nice and polite to the throngs who want his autograph and a photo with him after the show.

Mario rates a ten, his face & body is very hot and sexy. Iknow i'd jump into bed with him anyday verses that twinky kid.There's nothing like having sex with a MAN, not some boy.

I was just told that I had made a comment here about Mario Lopez. Since I hadn't read or posted to this thread I thought I better check it out.
Again, there is another ZEKE posting here. That post above wasn't from me. I happen to think Mario Lopez's face is beautiful; as is the rest of him.

IVE SEEN MARIO IN PERSON UP CLOSE. HE'S MAJOR! BUT YES, I THINK BRUCE VILANCH SHOULD BE THE NEW FACE OF 2XIST. DOES ANYONE REALLY WEAR THAT CRAP?
