Bill O'Reilly Accepts 'Pink Brick Award' for Defaming Gays
Mikayla Connell, President of San Francisco Pride, appeared on The O'Reilly Factor to present him with the group's Pink Brick award for portraying the LGBT community unfairly. O'Reilly's take on the instances of defamation that Connell presents to him is that the guests he has on his show are free to express their opinions. And when it all comes down to it, the worst thing in the world is a guy in nun drag asking for communion.
Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...

You know, people that use minorities as punching bags to further their careers and pocketbooks really ruffle my feathers. This man has used hate and fear to further his, disgusting. Truly disgusting.

The thing I hate is he'll just use this as a badge of honor with his homophobic audience. "Look, those San Francisco queers don't like me and think I'm against them - I even won an award for not conforming to their agenda - that's how you know I have the same 'values' as you". Connell might as well not have bothered, it's not like Bill O'Reilly's going to care that gay activists don't like him.

Mikayla Connell strikes me as a highly intelligent, tough woman. However, the decision to appear on Bill O'Reilly's show to present him with the Pink Brick award for unfair portrayals of the LGBT community only gave O'Reilly another platform upon which to be completely disingenuous, lie about his own actions and again portray the LGBT community in an unfair light. As my grandmother used to say, "Never wrestle with pig because you'll only get dirty and the pig will enjoy it."

The basic mantra that BO always gives is that we need to protect kids from gays et al. He's been very consistent on this. We are a threat to kids in his mind. I think the award should have highlighted that unfortunate viewpoint.

Evan, I watched that! She was a hot guy, too. Regardless, kudos to her for being so strong.

Hey, I disagree with O'Reilly as much as the next gay guy, but he did kind of seem to have a point.
The lesbian gangs thing was in July, 2007, and not several years ago but there was some correction to the story. Having a critic of the California SC decision on air seems quite permissable. I don't see why the speaker was so disinclined to say, nuns in drag shouldn't go in a catholic church if they're not okay with it.
If I ever went on that show, you can bet I'd have my facts and talking points nailed down.

I was in the gym during O'Reilly's coverage of the "gay church invasion." If I recall correctly, he said something to the effect of "Are militant gays a threat to national security?" I nearly spewed water, I laughed so hard.

Unlike BILL O - most gay men and women have not had to settle suits for SEXUAL HARASSMENT - with audio proof.
We should just ignore this pervert.

I think that it is a shame that this blog even indulges this man in any way, shape or form. Shame on you! This is not news-- the longer you feed into this shithole, the longer he shall espouse hatred.
