Regarding the republican ad against Obama... YAWN... who cares... anyone with half a brain knows that was all campaign rhetoric. What were Edwards and Clinton suppose to say, oh, Obama is better than me, vote for him instead? Trust me, there is more than enough inane statements made BY McCain that will nullify any impact... e.g. the BOMB BOMB BOMB, BOMB BOMB Iran comment...

And that, my friends, is exactly why Hillary Clinton CANNOT and WILL NOT be Obama's running mate.
Posted by: Cameron Johnson | Jun 4, 2008 3:54:24 PM
I can't wait until Anderson Cooper starts calling Wolf Blitzer "My shawty."
Posted by: crispy | Jun 4, 2008 4:00:07 PM
Agreed, Cameron. I'm sure Clinton can make another meaningful contribution to Obama's campaign, perhaps stumping for him in Appalachia.
The rabid blitzkrieg kissing after JD and Date's relatively low-key dinner was definitely hilarious.

Jesus, Mary, & Joseph! Pass the air sick bags! A shameless closet fag and a shameless closet dyke flirting with each other for all to see on national TV. Well, at least Anderson can correctly pronounce gerunds and isn't the phony in EVERY aspect of his life the way Donna "I'm Uncommitted" Brazile seems to be.
Go Obama! But he'd better pull her head out of his ass. She's one of the main reasons Al Gore didn't win in a landslide over Little Georgie Bush. As some have observed, forget votes—Donna Brazile couldn't deliver a pizza!

Welcome back, Leland/Michael. I have missed the real you. Tell that poseur that he never fooled us into believing it was you. Insight mixed with caustic wit is your unique combo and cannot be duplicated.

If gay men don't have sex on the first date, I doubt there will be a second date.
Leland, can you please elaborate on why Donna, of all people, was one of the MAIN reasons Al lost in 2000. That's quite a statement. I can see criticism of Shrum as the worst strategist in history, seeing as he's like 0 for 5 or something, but Gore's loss is bound to be a confluence of many factors.
Posted by: anon | Jun 4, 2008 4:54:39 PM
I'm so confused about how he decides whether to post as Leland or as Bedwell. Is there a method to the madness? Or just whatever personality is manifesting itself at the time?
Posted by: crispy | Jun 4, 2008 4:58:49 PM
Anon
Exactly the opposite in fact.
Don't give it up the first night and they can't stop calling you for a 2nd date. trust me!
Posted by: Jimmyboyo | Jun 4, 2008 5:07:48 PM
...and couldn't footage of the repug's that ran in the primary against mccain be spliced together as an ad to show his faults? whatever...
Posted by: yeahisaidit | Jun 4, 2008 5:46:11 PM
Apparently I owe Jimmy Carter an apology for comparing him to Obama in my many posts here. At least Carter was in his second elected term as a governor before he entered the race for the whitehouse. Whether I agreed with his fiscal plan or not he had REAL governing experience. Obama needs to thank sex scandals and wife beatings for his election to the senate! He is NOT ready and for once I agree with what Clinton said, both of them. Scary that he can be a junior senator ushered into office on the back of scandal and get the nomination. If you think that this hit on the dems is the first to come you are fooling yourself. He is not experienced! So go ahead and cast stones my way, but you cannot argue that he possesses the background to run this country! The presidency of the US is not an "on the job training" position!

My partner and I promised ourselves we wouldn't watch Work Out anymore after the comments Jackie made about that cancer survivor and the following denial that she pathetically played out, but I can't help it. I love to hate her, so I watched that episode clipped here... and that kiss was so bizarre! "So... um... te he..." :::sheepishly look at each other::: Then BAM! Sucking each others brains out!
Who does that???

Obama has more experience than REPUBLICAN Abraham Lincoln when lincoln ran for the presidency
Lincoln did pretty well don't you think?
:-)
I am not saying Obama will preserve the union (without which no america today, the north gobbled up by canada and the south by mexico)but precedence is with him. And a republican at that

Bob Shrum holds the record for the the most Presidential campaign advisor losses, but Brazile was a part of the failure teams behind the nomination or general election campaigns of Jesse Jackson, Mondale/Ferraro, and Richard Gephardt. She was fired from the Dukakis team for suggesting that Bush pere was an adulterer.
Shrum was a "senior advisor" to Gore 2000, but Brazile, initially a deputy campaign manager, somehow, despite her limited experience, ended up being promoted to full campaign manager for Gore, who, again, SHOULD have so trounced neophyte numbskull Bush fils that no recounts would have been needed anywhere.
She's a dishonest asshat, and not just because of the horrors of the last seven years under the Bush Reich, but because, probably sensing that Sen. Clinton would beat her obvious-from-Day-1 choice Sen. Obama, she helped engineer the Florida and Michigan primary fiascos. Emphasis mine: “I believe that in spite of the risk of alienating millions of voters in states THAT COULD ULTIMATELY DECIDE THE ELECTION THIS FALL, Howard Dean and party officials must [not allow a do-over]”?
And because she's played the race card throughout the primaries like an accordian, just as she did in forcing the DNC to rehire unquestionably surplus employees simply because they were black, and was a part of the group that opposed adding gays to the Democratic Party’s affirmative action guidelines for selecting delegates to the 2008 Democratic National Convention simply because it might mean less non-gay identified black delegates. Per depositions in the lawsuit against the DNC:
"Dean said some 'influential individuals' within the DNC Black Caucus, such as Donna Brazile, opposed the plan because it was seen as 'an affront to the civil rights movement'.”

Leland
I won't dispute Brazile's past problems, but I must dispute you on Obama being her first pick.
It was obvious in the beggining that Brazile was in fact for Hillary much like 80% of the African American community.
I am not sure where Hillary lost her, it did become obvious that brazile became a closeted Obama supporter. BUT not at first as you suggested.
Posted by: Jimmyboyo | Jun 4, 2008 6:31:13 PM
Oh, and Ickes is up there as the most lost presidential campaign guy
Eugene McCarthy, Birch Bayh, Morris Udall, Ted Kennedy and Jesse Jackson all lost with ickes at the helm who currently works for Hillary

If you go to the 32 second mark on the Anderson Cooper video you can hear someone in the background say what sounds like "Anderson's Gay!".

Oh. So that's what Lincoln's for. Actually Lincoln's life is a lot like Mr. Obama's. Lincoln came from a lean-to in the backwoods. His mother died when he was 9. The Lincolns had no money, no standing. Lincoln educated himself, reading law on his own, working as a field hand, a store clerk and a raft hand on the Mississippi. He also split some rails. He entered politics, knew more defeat than victory, and went on to lead the nation through its greatest trauma, the Civil War, and past its greatest sin, slavery.
Barack Obama, the son of two University of Hawaii students, went to Columbia and Harvard Law after attending a private academy that taught the children of the Hawaiian royal family. He made his name in politics as an aggressive Chicago vote hustler in Bill Clinton's first campaign for the presidency.
You see the similarities.
Sorry, but I fail to compare the two! Lincoln was a republican from a poor backgound. Obama is a silver spoon fed inexperienced socialist that never understood what it was like to be Lincoln.
And if the best that can be done is reaching back over 150 years to copare Obama to a president that is somewhat short sighted. After all, Lincoln did not face the middle east, ridiculous gas prices, planes being flown into buildings etc. And I can assure you that Lincoln spent no more time concerned about gay marriage than will Obama.

Lincoln never served outside of the Illinois senate before the presidency. Lincoln never governed as a state governor
Obama has served as a US senator after serving as an illinois senator.
I said he has more experience than Lincoln did and he does. Obama has more governing experience than Lincoln did.
Your point is invalid.
I made no comparison between their childhoods, but there again you are wrong
Obama's father left when he was 2. he was first raised by a single mother and then by his grandmother. An African american went on to succede at Harvard.
Again.
Barrak Hussein Obama has MORE governing experience on the national level than Lincoln EVER had before becoming president.
FACT

PS
lets get real
I was only pointing out how foolish the "experience" meme is.
Be honest now, you never had any intention of voting for a non repub no matter who it might be. You might claim you hate bush NOW, hell everybody does, but you did vote for him.
Have you ever voted non repub?
Posted by: Jimmyboyo | Jun 4, 2008 9:48:39 PM
Oh and on the reaching back thing
Lincoln is 1 of the 2 best presidents this country has EVER had. Lincoln and FDR
Obama having more National level governing experience than Lincoln, 1 of the 2 greatest presidents this country has ever had, means that the "experience" meme is meaningless
The irony about Lincoln being a repub is that the repubs of today would never allow Lincoln in the party today.
Lincoln was at least agnostic to borderline atheist. He even wrote an essay criticizing religous belief. Quoted as saying "The bible is NOT my book, nor christianity my religion. Its dogmas are too convoluted." His questionable sexuality would also find him having trouble being a repub today.

I think the Cooper-Brazile clip is a hoot. Proof that gay men and women can flirt with each other just as dextrously as straights can.
Posted by: dback | Jun 5, 2008 11:27:32 AM
I believe Obama will be a great pres. but we
will still have to get thru the election
and all those stupid people in this
country who will vote repub. and don't
forget we still have the asshole Bush
for another 6+ months but who's counting?
Lincoln was the only good repub. It was
all downhill for them after 1865!

I think Coop and Brazile can easily be boos...they are BOTH GAY!!!
And they both are already playing in the closet.
