You Voted - the Results of Our NewNowNext Award

You may have caught the NewNowNext awards Saturday night on LOGO. If not, you can catch the entire show here. You may also remember we were giving an award in conjunction with the show for "Most Impactful (video) News Moment of the Year".
The nominees were Jerry Sanders for his turnaround on same-sex marriage, Al Gore for his video on gay rights, Ellen DeGeneres' statement on Lawrence King, Larry Craig and his gay denial press conference, and Sally Kern's infamous gay-terrorist rant.
The winner, AFTER THE JUMP...
Ellen DeGeneres!

Sorry, Andy, but I have no desire to watch LOGO. LOGO is how MTV puts us in a cage. MTV basically uses LOGO in the same way a zoo-keeper uses a cage to keep the scary animals (ie us in the gay/bi male community) away from the general public. It's MTV's way of marginalizing us.
Note how MTV also practises homophobia at the level of male bisexuality as far as its mainstream channel is concerned. No male bisexuals were permitted on its bisexual dating show. Nuff said.

I see hope in LOGO. The number of national advertisers is mind boggling, really.
Some shows are beginning to hit their stride. The Big Gay Sketch Show, for example, had a fantastic season compared to the first. The bits on Liza crushing Gay bashers, Maya Angelou reading Craigslist, and of course Naldo handling those packages -- these bits rise to a level that SNL hasn't seen in years.
LOGO is putting us on the cultural landscape in a way it was hard to see coming in LOGO's first year.

You have a point Jason. That said, I can't even get LOGO.
Oh and Sanders should've won.
