A Tar Pit Wedding

Dave_alfonso

Writers Dave White and Alonso Duralde have been together for 13 years. Duralde is the author of 101 Must-See Movies for Gay Men and White is the author of Exile in Guyville, a blog-based memoir. They decided to have a spontaneous wedding officiated by their roommate Aaron, who was ordained over the internet. They recorded the day and the event, held at the La Brea Tar Pits. Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...

  2. That was the least "weddingy" wedding ever. So why did still I find myself tearing up?

  3. That's about as sweet as it gets.

Btw I've had one of Bob's donuts. I love the kitschy graphics but kitschy food is ill advised especially on a hot day in L.A.

  4. Don't feed the troll, a.k.a. Matt (and Cristal?).

Alonso's kinda on the cute side. They booth remind me of the gay couple from 'The Sarah Silverman Show'.

  5. so, Matt and Cristal; I gather y'all think you won the gene pool lottery, and believe that such luck of the proverbial draw somehow bestows upon you the authority to judge the looks of others...and publicly express these regal opinions?

Notwithstanding the simple arrogance shown by comments such as these, it shows no respect for others and gives the impression that you are Snippy Little Fags; an impression that, I'm confident, is surely false....

  6. We can gossip about it all we want, but at the end of the day, what goes or doesn't go on in their relationship/marriage is really none of our business. Play fidelity police if you want; I'm gonna make with the congratulations.

    CONGRATULATIONS, GUYS!

  7. It's a happy occasion, they've been together for 13 years, and it's now possible to get married in (selected pockets of) the U.S. But why celebrate that when it's easier to pass looks judgments and be the sex police?

Congratulations, guys! As someone in a long-time relationship myself, the amusement factor is probably the most important. Continued happiness and chuckles to you both.

  9. Some of these comments show the kind of attitude that drove this native californian to the east coast years ago.
Dave White rocks. Anything that rocks Dave White is something I support.
