Was a fan until she came into a friends restaurant in the mid 80's down in the West Village. She was with her entourage and she ordered a White Russian. She sent it back three times, the first two was with my friend Lisa, who was 8 months pregnant and she came back close to tears.
Next my friend Suzanne went, we called her the abusive waitress, and she said 'I'm not going back to that bitch'.
Finally my friend Bruce the bartender, who was tired of making a fourth drink, poured it back into the shaker, spit into it, and brought it to the table himself. 'Ms Jones, I'm the bartender here and I want to say what a huge fan I am and I made this special just for you'. To which Ms Jones praised, 'Now that is a cocktail'.
And she is one mega bitch. Great singer, but a total douche.

Thanks for the story, Patrick. I've always wondered why I couldn't make a proper white Russian. Now I know the secret ingredient.
She really does overdo the diva act, though I honestly think she might have some mental problems.

all artists are partially or wholly crazy. that's what makes them able to bring you this kind of art without being shy about it.
Yes, she's crazy, she's scary, she's beautiful, she's a diva and she's 60 years old now... amazing.

YES GRACE! YES GRACE ROCK IT!

Sorry JOHNNY but not all artist are crazy, or egomaniacs like Ms Jones. Nothing against her talent, which she does have. It's who she is to 'real people'. You don't throw shit at waiters who are trying to make a living and get a pass.
As for hitting 60, Annie Lenox, my fave, is hitting 55, Meryl Streep is 59, age has little or nothing to do with being an artist, or being a bitch, or bastard for the male schmucks like Elton John, Boy George or our latest tabloid fave A-Rod from the Yankees. Yes Crazy can be cool, but not if you are out of control or out of your mind, see Amy Whinehouse or Brittney.

This is great, but overall this song is something straight out of Recoil, Alan Wilder's post DM project.

My daughter overheard this and asked, "Are they singing 'I'm a man, eating cheese'?"

THIS IS FUCKING FANTASTIC! I HAVE WAITED MANY HRS FOR HER TO COME ON AND EVERYTIME IT WAS AMAZING! I EVEN GOT TRULY WASTED AND PASSED OUT ONE TIME AND MISSED HER WHOLE SHOW. I STILL HAD AN KILLER TIME! SHE ONCE SAT NEXT TO ME IN THE VIP ROOM OF THE HOLLYWOOD PALADIUM. SHE ORDERED ME TO GO GET HER A CHAMPAGNE. WHEN I GAVE IT TO HER SHE SAID, "SIT!" I SAT NEXT TO HER FOR THE REST OF THE EVENING. SHE NEVER SAID ANOTHER WORD TO ME BUT EVERYONE IN THE ROOM WAS CRAZY JEALOUS! I LOVE HER! CHECK OUT HER CITROEN COMMERCIAL ON YOUTUBE. THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE HATING ON HER DON'T KNOW YOUR SHIT, SORRY. LISTEN TO HER SING LA VIE EN ROSE AND TELL ME SHE'S NOT AN INCREDIBLE SINGER. THIS SONG AND VIDEO ARE WAY BETTER THAN ANYTHING I'VE HEARD LATELY.
GO GRACE!
NOW, WHERE'S MALCOLM MCLAREN?

There will only ever be one Grace
inspired, inspiring
mad as a sack of badgers
and doesn't give a fuck.

It's like Grace channelling Laurie Anderson. That's a good thing...

It's like she's imitating herself, a pastiche of her earlier masterworks. But I like it.

"I EVEN GOT TRULY WASTED AND PASSED OUT ONE TIME AND MISSED HER WHOLE SHOW. I STILL HAD AN KILLER TIME!"
Charming.

Ooh! That is one weird bitch.

Oh John, lighten up! You must live in the new Manhattan of double wide strollers with two store bought Chinese babies and a Dominican Manny who takes care of Brittney and Logan while you figure out if the Tom Ford swimsuits are worth the cost for you and Courts' trip to the Hamptons.
Yes, people used to get wasted, pass out and still wake up with a smile and a super big gulp coke! Sorry your ass was too tight to ever do a booty bump.
I'm just funnin' ya! Lighten up! LOL!

well, it's about f*cking time! Music has been so dull without some Grace in my face. Love the new song, it's Grace in great form, can't wait for the album!

I think this is fantastic, but 'This is Life,' the other leaked track, is just phenomenal.

Echo El Polacko -- I LOVE THAT WOMAN, and am so glad she's back. I have very fond memories of Slave to the Rhythm on my walkman when I was a tiny little gay boy, punch drunk and dug out in Key West in the 80's
