road.jpg California Supreme Court rules that doctors cannot discriminate against gay patients on the basis of their religious beliefs: "The California Supreme Court decision overturned a lower court ruling in favor of two Christian doctors who refused fertility treatment to a lesbian citing religious grounds. The woman, Guadalupe Benitez, successfully filed suit against the doctors and their medical group in 2004 on the basis that their refusal to treat her violated California's anti-discrimination laws. However an appeal court in San Diego ruled against Benitez, a decision that led to the supreme court ruling. In an unanimous decision the justices ruled that Benitez was entitled to be treated like other patients with the same condition, and that constitutional protections for religious liberty do not excuse unlawful discrimination."

Cahroad.jpg Californians Against Hate protests Proposition 8 outside Republican fundraiser: "About 25 enthusiastic protesters held up signs and greeted the 150 or so guests arriving at San Diego trail attorney Charles LiMandri’s Rancho Santa Fe estate yesterday. The $100 per head fund-raiser was sponsored by the San Diego County Republican party and the Yes on 8 Campaign."

road.jpg Evangelical Christian defends decision to leak letters by Anglican archbishop Rowan Williams that revealed his true thoughts about same-sex relationships: "As for why I decided to offer [the] letters to the public arena ... I became almost sure for various reasons that the liberals knew far more about Dr Williams’ personal views than the traditionalists did and, if so, the balance should be redressed. Over the years I have shared the letters with only a few; I had no desire to embarrass Dr Williams over his statements, and I hoped his personal views would change. Now the issue of homosexuality in the Anglican Communion has become such a big issue, I judged it was time to override my misgivings about making his views known. Anglicans can make up their own minds what to do with the information."

  1. are we to infer that mcbush experienced a bit of homo s&m action during his captivity... hmmm that would explain his issues with homosexuality ... did he like it, and like a good x-tian did he feel guilt for having enjoyed what i can only imagine (and you all know my imagination runs riot) might have been some rough backdoor action ... a lash on the back here and a gentle whipping of the buttocks there... ah it can be such a liberating experience... or it should be maybe not for mcbush ... i've been with some hot daddies in my time but never had a vietnamese top... aren't they all bottoms anyway? please let me know...

  2. I live in PA. I'm getting married in Mass. in October to my man of 35 years. Fuck these right wing whack jobs.

  4. Wow, Rafa has an amazing face. Beautiful and... well, for some reason, really interesting.

Great body, too, of course. But that face... particularly pictures 1 and 3. Maybe someone else a little more eloquent knows what the hell I'm babbling on about.

  5. They couldn't find a more flattering picture of Phelps for the cover? Why is he frowning? (I guess we should applaud a bit of male rump showing--that's been a rarity on mainstream publication covers.)

  7. JORDAN,

let me take a shot at it. his face has an epecine quality, while suggesting danger. his strong nose and his dark eyes dominate those pictures, while his smile conquers all.

i dunno, he reminds me of my black-lab/pit bull mix who looks like he could as easily rip my throat out as roll over to get his belly rubbed. there is strength and power in that face and body, but there is also grace, humilty and unbridled joy.

    am i smitten? oh, yeah.

  8. btw, ANDY, thanx 4 the break. it is good to know that rafa is getting some attention. while nbc was fixated on their superlative-laden, gushing coverage of the phelps phenom and the itchy-and-scrathy show of female beach volley ball, they seemed to have forgotten that the rest of the world's audience was focused on other events.

god, how i hate the overbearing hyperbole of america! just give me the fucking coverage: don't dictate to me how i should feel about it!!!!!!!

  9. Nice, NIC. Well put, and I agree. Double points for the use of "epicene."

  10. thanx, JORDAN

i realized after the fact that i had erred on the spelling, but i didn't think anyone would notice. so thanx again, bitch (heehee). nevertheless, i was thinking of a boticelli painting when thinking of nadal, hence the epicene reference.

rafa is a beautiful, beautiful man. he and i can take turns spooning (in my dreams).

also, jordan, if you understand spanish, you might want to tune in telemundo for their coverage of men's spring-board diving. fernando platas' description of alexandre despaties is priceless.

there is something about a sexy guy talking about another sexy guy in spanish that is wonderful.
