  3. i don't think there's much a president can do to fix the economy anything other than giving out handouts a la eva peron for my working theory is that everything in the world is owned by 3 people and it all just trickles down -- no, there are just too many variables and too many hands in the economic pie -- and people have that peculiar need to have daddy fix everything hence the appeal of obama's spiel... but i don't think the powers that be are going to go for his ideas, there's just too much at stake... and now for some coffee and a croissant or maybe some obama pancakes... hmmm... are they buckwheat?

  4. You need a good deprogramming, Queen.

  5. They were waffles, Queen and your stale joke is no funnier than it was yesterday.

As for the economy, everyone knows a president can do but so much. But people want someone who actually KNOWS what the fuck is going on and is not flat out lying to their faces. McSame's feel good rhetoric ain't gonna work this time, sister. So please save your b.s. for one of the racist Rethuglican blogs.

  6. DANG!!! The ignorance and stupidity of some people who comment on this blog just boggles my mind.

  7. You're really not very funny, Queen. Also, you're not correct. No, Obama can't fix the economy all by himself. However, he can keep the republic from devolving further into a kleptocracy (definition of which is your "working theory" of the economy, except they don't want anything to trickle down; they just want to enrich themselves further at the detriment to the common guy). You're right to be cautious about anyone declaring themselves to be a cure-all, but I think Obama has done more than that.

  8. Lets see America obsessed with minutia, reality TV, celebrity worship and “religion”. Check. Financial meltdown going on for the last 8 years while Republicans hollow out what’s left of government. Check. America wakes up with the same old song on its lips: “I was just an innocent bystander in my own life!” Welcome to the economic shitpile girls. Maybe we can ask Lance Bass, Marc Cherry, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford or the ass hats from American Idol to fix it.

  9. For people who want a pretty smart look at what could and couldn't have been done to avert this crisis, read this post from an MBA blogger with Republican leanings who says she will likely be voting for Obama:

  10. Hey, THE QUEEN! Wassup, Miss Thing? Are you trying to do a "Tallulah Bankhead" on me? All racially liberal (follicking up in Harlem), then when you get ticked-off, you "go South".

"buckwheat Obama pancakes" indeed. What about a Palin Douche/Enema set? Clean two pussies for the price of one.

  11. Has anyone checked The Queen's tampon lately? I think the old girl's come down with toxic shock.

    Posted by: 24play | Sep 16, 2008 11:24:08 AM

  12. dear jeff and q: to quote the immortal bette midler (a fabulous role model for any upcoming queen) "fuck'em if they can't take a joke!"

  13. dammit 24PLAY, I wrote that comment about four times but didn't get around to clicking post. Grrrr.

  14. I know this only throws more attention his way (not to mention making me look gayer 'n shit), but "Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke," was a quote Bette Midler borrowed, not her's originally. Which I guess just makes "The Queen" and his so-called commentary even more tired and irrelevant. Can he just go the way of "Jason," that is to say, gone already?

  15. "toxic shock"? LOL! I love that one 24 play. that was good. no, menopause has had it's way with for me for quite some time thereby obviating the need for tampons for quite some time....

ah miss derrick, when you mention tallu, you mention one of my great role models of all time (and for those children who don't know whom we are talking about here's a link:
    http://home.earthlink.net/~tgrillo/portfolio.htm)

did you know miss derrick, that when tallu saw sidney poitier at a manhatten restaurant she said: "you know dahling, when black men are handsome they are devastatingly so."

  16. I would like to offer my services as the powerful chair of the House Ways & Mean Committee to help fix the economy, and maybe my buddy Chucky Schumer from the Senate Banking Committee to help me. We never saw it coming, honest . . . but then again I have trouble just figuring out my taxes. By the way: will someone please explain to me the concept behing book-to-market accounting? Is that an issue with this financial collapse, and how does Obama feel about that?

  18. Sorry, MAJEFF. But if you think you're going win a thread every day just by invoking The Queen's Tampon, you are sadly mistaken. This election is a dirty fight to the finish, and I am innit to winnit!

  19. The Queen: to quote the immortal bette midler (a fabulous role model for any upcoming queen) "fuck'em if they can't take a *joke*!"

To quote the immortal Eve Harrington: "I don't know that I'd take you for anything"

  20. "Sorry, MAJEFF. But if you think you're going win a thread every day just by invoking The Queen's Tampon, you are sadly mistake"

Better to invoke than to ingest, I suppose.

  21. careful girls, 24PLAY is making a list and checking it twice... who's been naughty and who's been nice... you'd better watch out 'cause 24PLAY is comin' to town...

  22. Q: to quote bette davis in "the anniversary":

"Would you mind leaving, dear? Body odor offends me."

Posted by: the queen | Sep 16, 2008 1:06:24 PM

  23. Queen: to quote Ms. Davis in "the private lives of elizabeth and essex:"

"A queen has no hour for love. Time presses. Events crowd upon her. A shell. An empty, glittering husk."

    Slow curtain. The end.

  24. Actually a President can do a lot to affect the economy. Most of it bad. The mortgage crisis is a result of congressional meddling with lending in order to prevent "red lining". The goal was to make more home loans available to low income people of questionable financial resources. The rules drafted ended up allowing anyone who wanted a mortgage to basically get one. Ergo mess follows.

The economic maladies are only 1% McCain's fault. Obama is of course blameless as he has done nothing except demagogue.

  25. SlimJim brings out the passion in folks. It can't be McCain--he can barely arouse Cindy--I bet. Barack could have never known that he would cause a spontaneous tribute to the great Bette Davis on Towleroad.

Well Miss Sarah Palin said to her Eskimo grandmother in-law, "I'd love to kiss ya' but I just washed mah hai'yah."
