The city council passed a bias crimes ordinance that tracks such crimes, though it does not include penalties for them. There is an AIDS Walk now. Several residents say they came out publicly as gay, in their churches or on campus, in part to honor Mr. Shepard’s memory. The university hosts a four-day Shepard Symposium for Social Justice each spring, and there is talk of creating a degree minor in gay and lesbian studies. And yet, to the bewilderment of some people here, there is no memorial to Mr. Shepard in Laramie. The log fence has been torn down where he lay dying for 18 hours on Oct. 7, 1998. There is no marker. Wild grass blows in the wind."

  1. I've yet to hear Palin make an anti-gay statement. In fact, when asked about her stance (not too wide, I hope!) on homosexuality, she said it wasn't for her to judge. That's okay with me.

  2. Why did The Queen change her name to Countess? Did she get demoted?

  3. THE QUEEN,

you tell that fuckin' Gooch bitch to get the hell out of your home and your life. For the last 3 weeks she's had you singing the praises of that Baked Alaskan Hockey Ho'. I don't know what kind of drugs that illegal alien aristocratic slut is using on you, but it's got to stop NOW!

Why that bitch has you messed up in the head the same way Dame Judith Anderson did to Joan Fontaine in "Rebecca".

She took your mind, next she'll take your man. Then, what will that leave you...nothin' but a box of tampons you can't use no way.

    (damn, give me my Oscar)

  4. Countess, did you miss the whole thing about Palin trying to ban gay-themed books from her local library? When the librarian refused to pull the books, Palin tried to fire the librarian.

As for Elizabeth Hasselbeck leaving the "View" for Fox, hooray:

“Besides that, when she gets passionate about her opinions, the others make her look like she’s hysterical. But when she doesn’t talk enough, she’s accused of ‘pouting,” says the tattle."
--Yes, those other women "make" her "seem" hysterical. LOL

The Soviets had Pravda and the GOP have Fox News.

  5. COUNTESS DE DOUCHE

You must be blind, deaf and dumb not to know she follows the right wing rant that we are evil. Do some research, it's out there. Use Google, don't make others do your work for you.

As for the Katie and Tomkat show, welcome to NYC, now just go home. Even with three great actors you can not sell out your shows? Go home you flakes, your space ship is calling.

  6. Countess,

I think what you're referring to was when Charlie Gibson asked her if she thought homosexuality was a choice or biological:
    ------------------------
    (from Afterelton.com)
    GIBSON: Homosexuality, genetic or learned?

PALIN: Oh, I don’t — I don’t know, but I’m not one to judge and, you know, I’m from a family and from a community with many, many members of many diverse backgrounds and I’m not going to judge someone on whether they believe that homosexuality is a choice or genetic. I’m not going to judge them.

    -------------------------
Couple of things: a) That doesn't answer the question at all, as she defers to other people's beliefs, not her own; b) she doesn't judge said other people's BELIEFS, if they want to believe if it's a choice or biological -- that DOES NOT mean she doesn't judge homosexuality in and of itself.

Also, take a look through the blog you're commenting on; there's enough proof here to know that she's not on our side. Please educate yourself.

  9. Whoops. Sorry Patrick -- if I'd seen your comment, I'd probably not have posted that.

Anywhos, the Paris story was refuted by her rep, (if anyone really gives two craps): http://www.celebitchy.com/14269/all_17_of_paris_hiltons_dogs_are_fine/

Yay for Mitcham! Glad he's getting a sponsor.

  12. Thank you for ongoing Prop 8 coverage. As goes California, so goes the nation (think Hunter Parrish).

I think its big that the paper from San Diego, home of Pete Wilson and several military installations so by no means a liberal stronghold, came to reason and made the right call.

Perez Hilton did the right thing by calling out wealthy gay and married celebrities who have made no contribution to the anti-8 campaign. I think he was mainly talking about Ellen and Rosie O'Donnel, but I'm sure Mr. Sulu could pry open his wallet too.

  13. THE QUEEN: Countess, so what do you make of everybody’s reaction here?

THE COUNTESS: Typical, my dear. Just typical. I mean really. Most of them come across as hysterical queens.

THE QUEEN: You certainly aren’t referring to Miss Derrick?

THE COUNTESS: No she amuses me. I generally find her arguments intelligent though not actually persuasive -- for me at least.

THE QUEEN: Yes she’s fabulous! I truly believe we were sisters in another life. Karma has separated us.

    THE COUNTESS: No doubt.

THE QUEEN: But what about Noah’s statement that Palin was trying to ban gay-themed books from her local library and when the librarian refused to pull the books, Palin tried to fire the librarian?

THE COUNTESS: It simply isn’t true. Lies, my dear. All lies. Palin has denied it. The problem is these people here are watching snippets of interviews and NOT the entire interviews themselves.

THE QUEEN: And what about her position on homosexuality? I was told to google it and learn about it.

THE COUNTESS: Which we both did and found nothing anti-gay. Her church has sponsored a "pray the gay away" get together. Now that does not necessarily reflect her position on the subject nor does that make her anti-gay. I mean we cannot blame her if her church chooses to do that. That would be like blaming Obama for Rev. Wright’s position on certain issues. That would be saying that Obama believes what Rev. Wright believes just because he attended his church. No, you cannot have it both ways. And Phil was wrong, she did answer the question. She said she didn’t know if it was biological or a choice. Nothing anti-gay in that. Personally, I don't believe these pray the gay away groups are necessarily a negative thing. I mean, these people are in pain, they are choosing a religious alternative to psychotherapy. We should be compassionate and not judgemental.

THE QUEEN: True, true. Well, Countess it’s time for tea.

    THE COUNTESS: Ciao, dears.

  14. This is so shameful to admit to knowing, but the Paris Hilton story is bogus. TMZ already contacted her rep and posted a story refuting the other hours ago.

  15. Since The Queen of Cooch lives in true blue California, I can simply laugh at her derangement. Let the poor old dear vote however her addled mind decides.

  16. @ The Queen and The Countess:

Talk about a quadruple snap-spin-pirouette and a dip! You have truly proven that your Haters are your Motivators, chile. And although I, personally, wouldn't believe ANYTHING that spews from the mouths of the Party of the Painted Swine, I admire your eloquence.

Oh, and you musn't forget the crumpets, ladies!

  17. ROFLMAO

I disagree 100% with The Queen's/ countess' position, but that was pretty funny.

I'll give you ,or is it both of you, a bow

  18. I know things have changed here in California when the San Diego newspaper is against Prop.8! Truly shocking....just ten short years ago....the (poll)numbers were almost exactly reversed. I am amazed...

  19. Sen. Barack Obama's campaign is reportedly launching a "Faith, Family, and Values Tour" next week that will include Catholic legal scholar Douglas Kmiec as one of the campaign's surrogates. Kmiec wrote an op-ed for the San Francisco Chronicle this summer in which he urged support for passing California's marriage ban, Proposition 8.

Maybe Obama will bring back ex-gay Donnie McClurkin, too! Assuming that Obama gets elected, I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for Obama to build a "consensus" -- as he puts it -- before repealing DADT and DOMA.

  20. Hate-Filled Obsessive Gay Bore's up to his trollish duties, I see: cutting n pasting anti-Obama drivel and pasting it in multiple threads.

Gurl, you get a life yet?

Or maybe look up who the Green Party's presidential candidate is?

  21. Countess - Let's have you de-gayed, or ex-gayed, by Palin's fans. Then we can talk about your support for Palin.

Did you prefer surgery, prayers, or chemicals?

    Posted by: Landis | Sep 20, 2008 1:55:28 AM

  22. Well, since googling is difficul for some inbred royalty, allow me to help (I actually went to Answers.com). She has a slim record or little experience on gay rights, but what she has done is reluctantly sign a gay rights bill after losing a legal fight opposing it and saying she still believes partner rights only belong to straight couples: http://gaycitynews.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=20098390&BRD=2729&PAG=461&dept_id=568864&rfi=6

Even Andrews Sullivan, a conservative gay blogger, thinks she is the most stupid, hateful woman around.

And then there is this report by Michael Signorile:

    http://www.bentalaska.com/2008/09/more-on-sarah-palin-and-gay-rights.html

Sarah Palin is a bad drag queen, bad woman, and a bad VP candidate.
