Obama and RNC Release Dueling Economy Ads

Admccain Adobama

The GOP ad plays on fear while the Obama ad is a straight-talking outline of his policies.

Watch them, AFTER THE JUMP...

According to Marc Ambinder, the Obama ad will air nationally. The GOP ad will air in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin, and Indiana. Ssays Ambinder: "Here's evidence that the RNC and the McCain campaign aren't coordinating messages: the RNC's ad blasts the bailout plan -- the same bailout plan that McCain was working the phones to support."

  2. Is it any surprise that the GOP ad tries to scare us? That's kind of "The Maverick's" whole tactic? No?

  3. The perfect side-by-side comparison. Fear vs. Hope.

Obama reminds me of Churchill and FDR.

  4. bill clinton signed in the legislation that caused this mess so he'd better take a nice long look at himself.

  5. As a Democrat, I really wish Bubba would go away. Out campaigning this week, he was talking up his legacy, his wife's run and how much he admired McCain, but nary a word about supporting Barack. So much for helping.

    MONICA! GET IN THERE!

  6. Pretty good Obama ad. Direct and simple, with a memorable line: "...pain has trickled up."

DAVID R., he may be more like a Reagan from the left. And that's ok with me.

  8. @ DERRICK FROM PHILLY: good point. I've thought that too—a real 'morning in America' that's inclusive and progressive.

  9. Obama remindes me of a combinaiton of Hoover and Nixon. He going to inherit an unwinnable war and an economy in failure mode. The Democrats and Republicans will be tossed in the garbage for supporting the bailout, a massive theft to rescue the idiots and their political lapdogs who destroyed the economy.

Obama will fail just as Hoover and Nixon did, and FDR for that matter. FDR's alphabet soup provided a few much needed make work-jobs at poverty wages but the event that ended the depression occured at 7am on the morning of December 7th, 1941.

Churchill was an infamous racist and imperialist whose great leadership skills were illustrated by the carnage at Gallipoli.

You have an odd collection of losers as heroes David R.

Your only apt comment was comparing Obama to Reagan, another signal loser: a failure and enemy of working people and consumers. I agree with you on that.

  10. Damn, thanks, Bill.

Hoover, Nixon, Reagan and Winston the Racist Imperialist....and now, Slim Jim. He's my vote, baby.

Sorry, Barack isn't balding. He might remind you of Lenin. Lenin was sexy...I think.

  11. There’s nothing remotely left or progressive about Obama. He’s a right centrist, he panders to bigots, he’ll bail out the rich and make working people pay for it and he’ll try to win in Iraq.

He doesn’t have much choice so the bigger he wins the harder he’ll fall politically. An unwinnable and expensive genocide combined with the crushing burden of paying of the debts of the corporate rich will politically destroy him and the Democrats.

Both parties are dinosaurs, mortally wounded and extinct but just too damn dumb to figure it out.

Working people will have to pay for the current national debt of nearly $10 trillion, $25 billion to bail out Ford and GM, about a $1 trillion each for Wall Street, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae (as debt, losses will be extra) and roughly 85 billion for AIG.

It’ll mean imposed austerity, union busting and authoritarianism to enforce. It’ll mean the end of social programs for decades.

    Can you spell RAGE.

  12. No, but I can spell DELUDED, OLD, IRRELEVANT, SOCIALIST FUCKTARD.
