Male Model Clique Strips to Sell Suits

Hercules1

Models Marlon Texeira, Andres Segura, Tyson Ballou, Marcus Schenkenberg and Terron Wood team up for the new issue of men's mag Hercules. While fully suited up on the cover, inside they're offering much less. And in this case, less is more.

Two more shots (and a preview video), AFTER THE JUMP...

  4. Hey Andy...I think you have a typo in that headline...I'm guessing the models strip, not stripe.

  5. WOW! Schenkenberg's STILL got it!

  8. Are plaid suits back in? Gross.

(He said sitting in his favorite plaid pajama bottoms)

  9. Hercules? Am I the only one that sees a disconnect? There is nothing Herculean about these guys. Pretty enough faces, but they look like little boys playing dress up. I'm disturbed that male perspective of beauty seems to get younger and younger. If we keep it up, we'll be like the women with 14 y/o boys modeling suits and 30 and 40 something’s trying to look like them. I love that men age gracefully and are sexy at all ages. I think men should be men and advertising should be a little less "pedophilic".

  10. LOVE the plaid suits!
but wow, that Hercules logo is amateur.

  11. The video sucks.

  12. I like T-road, but models are boring. The sports dudes are hotter, because they look more real. And they have a story behind them. Models aren't really newsworthy, are they? I mean, they are picked for their supposed physical attributes, but they are vacant, and somewhat vapid, no?

  13. to each his own. they're all beautiful, imo. btw, one is spanish and one is brazilian. so it depends on what one's meaning of "white" is.

    Posted by: nic | Oct 15, 2008 12:59:47 PM

  14. the meaning of white is Caucasian - not American, Nic. There are plenty of Caucasian Spaniards and Brazilians.

BTW, why is type of advertising on Towleroad? Its not effective in terms of making me want to buy the magazine...

  15. ECHOVIC,

i am well aware of the technical meaning of white. i am considered white even though i'm mexican-american. however, you would be hard pressed to find a proud mexican-american who considers him/herself "white". there is nothing wrong with being caucasian, but i doubt that most spaniards and certainly not most brazilians consider themselves caucasian; european, maybe, but not caucasian. strictly speaking, spaniards and brazilians are latino.

  16. Wow, another fashion magazine full of white stick models. How innovative and fresh. Hercules can kiss my ass.

  17. Where are the MEN?

OK, we are gay because we like gay MEN.

So the move is going from having guys shave legs, to plucking eye brows, to ?

Oh, I get it, being skinny and looking like a young teen-age girl. That's what is attractive in the male model industry.

OK, whatever, if that's what girls like. (and I do mean "gurls")

    I prefer gay MEN.

  18. Schenkenberg is getting old and skinny huh?

I thought this story was going to be something about these guys being rl friends or something. Whatever - no clique here, move along.

  19. Those are some way ugly suits. Blech. Looks like a Bill Blass ad from the 70s.

The boys are standard, requisite model fare. 20-something, body-hairless and pretty. The goal is to look as much like a mannequin as possible, right?

    Posted by: johnny | Oct 16, 2008 7:33:18 AM

  20. I agree with Adam...Men should be Men not boys. Hercules, not these boys. As far as the suits, these plaid suits are being done by good old Tom Ford...yuck!!!!!

    Posted by: MICHAEL | Oct 16, 2008 11:46:11 AM

  21. More skinny white dudes in clothes I can't afford, to each his own but I'm gonna pass.

    Posted by: Fumoblue | Oct 16, 2008 2:13:26 PM

  22. In Europe we are all white, unless you count the foreign ethnic groups that have lived in Europe for many years. Latin is a stupid American term. The word "latin" comes from ancient Rome. The Italians, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Romanians, Maltese and Andorrans are all latin, but are white. Latin is the language of the Romans and the languages that derive from it. If you go to Spain and call them these foolish things you will get it.
