Joe Biden to Anchor on 'Marxist' Question: 'Are You Joking?'
Joe Biden responded to an interrogation by WFTV-Orlando reporter Barbara West with incredulity as West spewed a relentless barrage of right-wing talking points. Said Biden: "I don't know who's writing your questions."
ANCHOR: How is Senator Obama not being a Marxist if he intends to spread the wealth around?
BIDEN: Are you joking? Is this a joke? Or is that a real question?
ANCHOR: No. That's a question.
BIDEN: He is not spreading the wealth around. He is talking about giving the middle class an opportunity to get back the tax breaks they used to have.
Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...
The Obama campaign cancelled a scheduled WFTV interview with Jill Biden as a result.

Wow, well done Joe.
I've been traveling in Europe and everybody here is optimistic and excited about Obama/Biden's chances. We owe it to the world to make it a reality.

Other possible questions:
"Why do you hate America?"
"If you could eat babies, how many would you and why?"

Who let the Republican Pod People out? That is one scary bitch...

Um, am I the only one who thinks Biden came off as arrogant here? We have a free media in this country that can ask any questions they want of a candidate, and he portends to ask her if she's joking? Many Americans, both liberal and conservative, have reservations about Obama's economic plans, especially at a time when the economy needs to be helmed by someone with the experience and ability to guide it back on track. Tax cuts for the middle class are great but I still haven't heard what exactly Barack Obama's plans for the economy are or how he intends to fix it, nor have I heard him give any response to criticism other than...silence. The media will lay into Sarah Palin for something as lame as her clothes, but the Obama-Biden ticket seems to be immune from media scrutiny - that is what should concern ALL Americans, regardless of political affiliation.

Jesusfuckingchrist! I can hardly believe that was real.

This has already been rehashed to death on digg, reddit, and fark. You're slacking dude. Its already been pointed out that her husband is a republican strategist so you at least know who wrote the questions...
@mark in nyc
I find as many naive uninformed idiots in the rest of the world as I do in America so excuse me why i don't care...

Matt, sorry, but "Are you joking?"
Maybe you're a Marxist...

Yoshi and Matt, stop posting with different names, it's getting tired...
Posted by: CJ | Oct 27, 2008 2:04:19 PM
Matt, yes, you may not be the only person, but you are probably one of the few people who think he came across as arrogant. Anyone can tell that this woman is asking questions that come from an extreme conservative's desire to strike fear in the electorate.
What is obvious is that he can answer questions, unlike Palin.

I don't think Biden came across at all as arrogant. The anchor, however, just came across a stupid braindead Republican drone, throwing out a pathetic GOP fighting line, which everyone knows is shit, but the GOP knows all too well that shit sticks so they still throw it, to do as much damage as they can before their falsehoods are debunked... Wake up and sniff it, Republicans, you are OUT in a week!

Yet another dumb, bleaced blond shill for the right wing hate crowd, but, leave it to Biden to call her out on it!

Incredible that this is considered MSM. People have lost their jobs for less than than that. I hope to hell she does not have a journalism degree. I would love to know more about her background/credentials. Truly amazing. Maybe Faux news has dulled folks' senses, but this was no less than a partisan attack. Whatever happened to objectivity? So much for the "liberal media!"
Posted by: Rocco | Oct 27, 2008 2:53:19 PM
It seems like a fair question to me. I mean why should I give up my hard earned money to give it to people who have not worked as hard as me. 3rd party all the way baby.
Posted by: Matt | Oct 27, 2008 2:54:39 PM
The Republican middle class obviously likes being the bitches of the wealthy.
Posted by: Chris | Oct 27, 2008 2:56:59 PM
And Obama wants to spread the wealth around. If you tax people making more than 200K (it use to be 250K but it changed this weekend for some reason) to pay for the tax cuts given to those under 200K isn't that in affect a redistribution of wealth through the taxpayer system?

Yoshi, thanks for your condescending insult. I'll be sure to pass it on. Should get a laugh at dinner.

Marxist, Socialist, what's next... accusing him of being a closet Nazi? Come on, let's stop the name calling and get on to the real issues of fixing this country's significant problems!
