Obama Puts Spotlight on McCain and Keating Five Scandal

Here's the Keating Five piece I mentioned earlier today.
Wired reports: "The Obama campaign's 13-minute video was released online Monday, and features damning testimony from former Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corp.'s Deputy Director Bill Black, who was one of the key participants in the meetings with McCain at the time."

It saddens me to see the campaign go negative. BUT accusations thrown by the other campaign about Obama being a terrorist are inexcusable. Sen. Obama has taken an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, just as Sen. McCain has. Shame on him.

Despite Mc Cain's involvement in the Keating 5 scandal, Obama is much worse with his involvement in ACORN and Freddie/ Fannie.. look it up you all might not be so thrilled with your beloved Obama afterwards.

Oh, Jason. You're so cute sitting there at the computer in your underwear and tinfoil hat. Don't forget Obama's participation in the worldwide conspiracy against bisexuals.

It is good that the facts are all laid out; however, I believe it would be much more effective without the musical soundtrack. Additionally, it would be more effective were it shorter and the visual "aides" deleted, e.g. the shots o'er the enshrouded Capitol, the trailing lights of the traffic, etc. The regulator is a compelling witness but would be more convincing if he let the viewer draw their own conclusions rather than stating them. This was clearly designed for an intelligent audience so it would be wise to treat them as such.
Chris, this commercial is not "going negative;" rather it is providing historical facts that show McCain's lack of judgment in people and policies, albeit a tad melodramatically. These qualities, or more precisely the lack thereof, are exactly what the electorate should weigh in choosing a President, particularly in light of the current economic crises (yes, plural).
I am heartened that Obama/Biden are hitting back at the lies promulgated by McCain/Palin with tough but factual responses. Obama has run a materful campaign in bettering the Clinton machine and continues to do so in responding to McCain's adoption of Rovian gutter politics.
