Rachel Maddow Did Not Want to Run into Pat Buchanan in the Dark
I was looking for this clip last week, but just came across it. MSNBC's Rachel Maddow appeared last week on The Tonight Show and spoke with Jay Leno about the current election, her frequent guest Pat Buchanan, and McCain running mate Sarah Palin.
On Pat Buchanan: "When he gave that culture war speech in 1992 I felt like he was declaring war on me. Did that make me hate him? No. It made me probably not want to run into him in the dark."
On Sarah Palin: "Sarah Palin is entertaining. She is not convincing people that she is qualified but we are riveted by her."

Rachel is awesome.... really a great commentator, the best around now. Eloquent, balanced (she may be liberal but gives everyone a chance to speak), intelligent... and fabulously gay! Rock on, Rachel, LOVE your MSNBC show!

Rachel is indeed great. Leno, not so much.
The 'I don't care what people do in the privacy of their bedroom' line. It's like saying, "I don't mind gay people, so long as they don't 'act' gay."
I half expected Leno to look down at one of his cards and say, 'and it say here that you like vaginas'.

I have the biggest platonic crush on her. She's so damned smart, eloquent, and fair. I just want to give her a big hug and tell her to keep doing what she's doing.
And can you imagine what an impact she's making on LGBT youth just by being a successful out person?
