Sarah Palin Slams Abuse of Power After Being Found Guilty of It
Time on the investigation by Stephen Branchflower which concluded that Sarah Palin abused her office as Governor of Alaska in what has become known as the 'troopergate' scandal:
"Did Governor Sarah Palin abuse the power of her office in trying to get her former brother-in-law, State Trooper Mike Wooten, fired? Yes. Was the refusal to fire Mike Wooten the reason Palin fired Commissioner of Public Safety Walt Monegan? Not exclusively, and it was within her rights as the states' chief executive to fire him for just about any reason, even without cause. Those answers were expected, given that most of the best pieces of evidence have been part of the public record for months. The result is not a mortal wound to Palin, nor does it put her at much risk of being forced to leave the ticket her presence succeeded in energizing. But the Branchflower report still makes for good reading, if only because it convincingly answers a question nobody had even thought to ask: Is the Palin administration shockingly amateurish? Yes, it is. Disturbingly so."
On Saturday, ABC's Jake Tapper notes, Palin lied to reporters about the findings: "Well, I’m very very pleased to be cleared of any legal wrongdoing, any hint of any kind of unethical activity there. Very pleased to be cleared of any of that."
Andrea Mitchell questioned a Palin spokesperson about it this afternoon.
Ironically, today on the campaign trail, Palin crowed about her running mate: "See as a senator, John has confronted the corrupt ways of Washington. And the wasteful spending. And the abuses of power. As president, he’s going to end those once and for all."

Governor Palin is the Governor of Alaska.
If she wants to replace someone in her cabinet for insubordination, she can.
Goodbye Monagen.
Wooten- the trooper in question- still has his job.
He tasered Palin's 10-year old nephew and threatened her father "Eat Lead."
I am not a Governor- but I would have put this guy UNDER the jail.

I already know how honored you guys were to get credentialed to follow Obama's campaign through the Democrat's Convention but in fairness, you need to report everything. Do gays and Lesbians know that Sara Palin's BEST friend is a lesbian. That John McCain's campaign director is a gay man.
Don't throw your support to a man for just words when he parades throughout the churches with anti-gay zealots and acts like it did not happen - thats what Obama did.
McCain ’08 Shows Gay Pride By Snubbing Hartsuch
The McCain ’08 campaign refused to allow Senator David Hartsuch to speak at the John McCain rally today. According to a representative of the McCain ’08 campaign, the national campaign office would not approve Senator Hartsuch to speak because of comments which he had made two years earlier in defense of traditional marriage. …
According to Sen. Hartsuch, “Marriage is not merely the State’s endorsement of a romantic relation, but rather the State’s endorsement of an institution intended to bring up the next generation of children as moral individuals.”
Senator McCain voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment, which would have defined marriage as only between one man and one woman. At that time, Senator McCain called such prohibitions “Un-Republican”, and “inconsistent with the core values of the party.” In 2002, Senator McCain supported Richter Elser, an openly gay GOP candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives by sending a fund-raising letter to Elser supporters. According to advocate.com, McCain wrote, “Our party’s strength, like our country’s strength, comes from inclusion, not exclusion.”

Sarah Palin is everything that is wrong with America...
and for that very reason (that's a hellova lot of votes!) could be placed in office at the White House.

Glenn,
Get real: McCain also is against repealing DOMA, DADT, and passing ENDA. McCain also threw his support behind the anti-gay folks supporting Proposition 8 in California and the anti-gay movement in Arizona.
Palin says she has a friend who's gay, but Palin also was forced by the Alaska Attorney General to sign domestic partner legislation. Palin had a separate signing statement that explained she did not want to sign the law but was compelled to do so. In the VP debate, she made it clear she was against any kind of equality for gays. Biden explained he wanted full marriage equality before the law. Palin said no because it would encroach on heterosexual relationships
In summary, neither Palin nor McCain supports the major civil rights legislation that would benefit gay Americans.
t
Your claims about Obama are interesting. Towleroad has had several reports of Obama going into churches and admonishing people against homophobia. Unlike McCain, not only does Obama have OPENLY gay staff, he has a section of his website devoted to gays and has a platform that spells out his specific goals for gays.
Dude, your Republican troll. We deal with people like you every day. You come here trying to deceive us about McCain. It won't work.
Finally, beside being gay, many of us are Americans. We have eyes and ears and understand how much damage the GOP has done to this country. We're in 3 wars that aren't going well. There's a horrific financial crisis. Health care is a disaster. Etc. Etc. Etc.
The Republican answer is more tax cuts for the top 1%.
