Mcconnellroad.jpg The gay-baiting of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Signorile: "Since McConnnell is a senator who has voted antigay over and over again, it's certainly relevant to ask the question if things just don't add up, and there's nothing wrong with implying someone is gay or asking the question, is there? And if McConnell is not, and there is some other truth to his discharge, why not just state it?"

road.jpg And heads reportedly rolling on Heroes as well...

road.jpg Four Soulforce riders arrested at Central Baptist College in Arkansas: "As Conway police handcuffed three women and one man, their fellow activists remained on the public sidewalk and sang the Christian camp song that begins, 'Love, love, love, love, Christians, this is your call.' The 17 activists were all members of Soulforce Q, a group that seeks what it describes as equal treatment for gay students. The group visited the small Conway campus of about 500 students as part of its third annual Equality Ride, a national bus tour of conservative Christian colleges and universities."

Secaucusroad.jpg You may remember the case in Secaucus, New Jersey where a gay couple was awarded $2.84 million by a jury. The couple filed suit against that town claiming that they were harassed in an April 2004 incident by a group of firefighters who were partying at the firehouse adjacent to their residence. Now, the fire station is under investigation for a letter that went out to residents: "Last week, a letter that was sent to residents in the 2nd Ward from the "officers and members" of Rescue Co.1/Engine Co. 2, stationed in the North End firehouse. In the letter, the North End firefighters decried the departures of firefighters Charles Snyder Sr., Charles Snyder Jr., and Charles Mutschler, who, according to the letter, were forced by Secaucus Mayor Dennis Elwell to resign from the department. 'The Officers and Members of Rescue 1/Engine 2 are writing to the residents to reassure you that we are still both WILLING and CAPABLE of helping to keep our town safe,' said the letter. 'Recently, our firehouse has been under scrutiny for 'ALLEGATIONS' of an incident that occurred on April 24, 2004. As a result, three dedicated members forcefully resigned.'"

Truebloodroad.jpg Alan Ball on making True Blood: "How easy it is to read the vampires as a metaphor for this or that is the least interesting for me. It’s texture, but it’s not what the series is about. When I first pitched this to HBO and somebody asked me what it was about, I said, 'It’s about the terrors of intimacy.' At the time, I thought, 'Who knows what that means, but it sounds good!' Over time, I’ve really started to believe that that is the deeper meaning of the show, and I would venture to say a lot of horror movies, and is a lot of the reason why the vampire is such a powerful archetype."

road.jpg Inside fashion powerhouse Aussiebum.

road.jpg Jennifer Hudson sequestered in her grief; crime scene too much.

road.jpg Lindsay Lohan gets political: "In a post titled "VOTE," she apologizes for not blogging for awhile, and then gives us her get-out-and-vote spiel: 'I cannot say how important it is for everyone to get out there and vote tomorrow... The future of our country depends on it. Just one vote can make such a difference... Vote—because your thoughts are worth it..VOTE—because YOU can make this country a better place...VOTE—because you can. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She goes on to say 'yea' for Obama, including a little smiley face emoticon with her endorsement, and no on Props 8 and 4, the latter of which would require a doctor, before performing an abortion on a minor, to notify the girl's parents at least 48 hours before doing the procedure."

  1. Start with the fasicts like McConnell but out ALL gay Repugs who by their very party membership are aiding and abetting the enemy. Even if Prop 8, and the similar measures in Florida and Arizona are defeated, we MUST start fighting back harder and ON THEIR LEVEL if we are not to be trampled on. It's THIRTY-NINE YEARS SINCE STONEWALL, people! THIRTY-YEARS since Harvey Milk was assassinated! TEN years since Matthew Shepard was slaughtered!

WHEN is too long and too much enough?

As for the Soulforce Kids--they mean well, but, excuse my language, Jesus Fucking Christ, what are you doing--NOT in California--NOT in Florida--NOT in Arizona--but IN ARKANSAS election week?

  2. Grey's Anatomy is broadcast on ABC, not CBS.

  3. so what are your predictions my dahlings... i still mccain will be prez, don't know how, but he will.. and the yes on 8 people will win, too... what do you think my dahlings?

  4. Queen, I'll say this as politely as I can:

    FUCK OFF!

  5. "...what do you think my dahlings?"

Is it too early out there in California for you to start sipping, dear heart? Alcohol brings out the sweater side of your nature. Please start--immediately.

"Alexandra...wouldn't you like to sleep in my room tonight?"

    "Why, mother? Are you afraid?"

Look, Regina Giddens of the West Coast, Barack Obama will be president of the United States by the time you finish off your first bottle this evening (I'll be on my second--I'm doin' wine, not the hard stuff tonight). Get with the program, Regina!

  6. I predict no one on Towleroad will give a fuck what that tired, old, demented, attention-starved sow, who calls herself The Queen, thinks.

  7. "Barack Obama will be president of the United States by the time you finish off your first bottle this evening (I'll be on my second--I'm doin' wine, not the hard stuff tonight). Get with the program"

Oh, well, George the Idiot and the tragic Miss Laura have decided to get out of Dodge DC 76 days earlier than usual. Dick Cheyney will be kicked out on his continuously constipated ass.

  8. Personally, I think the character of Erica Hahn isn't very exciting and with a ratings dip, they are looking to make a change. I don't really think that ABC, the network of "Brothers & Sisters" is really having trouble with a gay relationship on TV. They had a gay wedding before the supreme court allowed it.

Also, it should be noted that Steve is correct above. Greys is on ABC not CBS.

  9. Election day finally being here should bring the welcome side-effect of finally shutting "The Queen" up - well, once results start pouring in at least.

  10. "The future of our country depends on it. "

Oh lord - Lindsay baby ... our country has lasted 225 years and during worse periods of time ... it will easily outlive you (although that may not be that difficult)

  11. Signorile needs a new shtick. The problem is when he will one day over-reach and "out" a guy who's actually str8. Then the boy who cried wolf won't have anyone listening to him. If you out someone, please have proof on hand.

  12. Does anyone even care what that deluded vermin who calls herself 'The Queen' thinks? Even Consuelo (who was born here and is an AMERICAN!!!) was smart enough to leave her and her sycophant fake countess. Oh and btw, Miz Liz Taylor tells me she is delighted that Consuelo is now part of her family and loves that it was Consuelo who first brougth her to The Abbey.

  15. The real sad part is $73 million could have provided a lot of food/shelter/medicine for people who really need it. When will "good intentioned" people really start spending their money on good things?

    Posted by: UFLYGUY | Nov 4, 2008 6:16:41 PM

  16. Thats an insane amount of money I wish we had $73 million to spend around here, our town sure would be a lot better off!

  17. The importance of Arkansas was the measure about adoption for singles...it effectively bans gays from adopting. And it passed. As did Florida, Arizona, and probably California. While I recognize the historical meaning of Obama being elected, and I'm pleased with it, to hear civil rights speeches being given while other citizens of this country are being stripped of theirs is hard to take. Time to step up and make equal for all, future President. Yes.We.Can.

Or is that only for straights? Prove me wrong, mmmkay?
