Obama's First Cyberside Chat

Cybersidechat

While many of you were protesting, on Saturday, Obama launched what has become a presidential tradition — a weekly address. But while FDR began it on radio, with a fire crackling in the background (thus, the "fireside chat"), Obama has taken the tradition into the 21st century by speaking to the nation on YouTube.

So while the message this week was important, it was the messenger that made the news.

  1. they've been making a fuss about the fact Obama took the address onto YouTube... Queen Elizabeth has already been doing that for awhile... no big shakes.

  2. I watched the Obama's last night in their 60 Minutes interview.

The whole time I kept thinking how great it is simply to have a president who can say big words.

    :-)

  3. Obama seems to have a positive affect on the confidence level of the people around him as well.

I've noticed that - ever since Obama was elected - Reid and Pelosi have been looking considerably less cowardly at their weekly press briefings. And even the Clintonistas are far more happy with Obama than they thought they'd be. They're pumped up and ready to go.

You know, I've forgotten what it was like to have a president who wasn't a global embarassment. It feels good to see the adults are back in charge.

  4. Jimmy, that 60 Minutes interview was most excellent! I especially loved that he didn't spin around in circles when asked if he would use his executive privilege close Gitmo. He gave a very firm "YES."

Also, his banter back and forth with Michelle was soooo cute!
