Hello readers! Corey Johnson and I are in Washington DC for the inauguration and the energy and crowds here are unreal. This afternoon we were at the opening ceremonies at the Lincoln Memorial, so we were not aware that HBO has apparently, for some reason, left out Gene Robinson's prayer from their broadcast. It's surely something you'll be hearing about in the next few days. However, the ceremony at the Lincoln Memorial, which featured a beautiful performance from the Washington DC Gay Men's Chorus, was truly monumental and the size of the crowd was inspiring.
Joe.My.God, a fellow blogger who many of you are familiar with (and one of the nominees this year for Best LGBT Blog) will be guest blogging now through Tuesday. Corey and I have been running around DC doing interviews with various politicos which we'll post for you in the coming days while Joe fills you in on the news.
Here's a shot we took from our spot at the Lincoln Memorial, looking back toward the Washington Monument, this afternoon. More to come…
