Towleroad at Opening Ceremony Concert at Obama Inauguration

Hi folks. Here's our first report from DC, a brief perspective from the opening ceremonies at the Lincoln Memorial. We're working with some new equipment and trying to adjust the quality of the video, which is much better in our original shot, so please bear with us. I hope you enjoy this short introduction.
More interviews coming later today....
Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...

HBO has stated that it was the PIC presidential inauguration committee that decided on dissing us and Robinson. It was also the PIC's decision to not identify the gay chorus though Stevie Wonder's name, Beyonce's name, Bono's name, etc all flashed across screens identifying people whose faces are well known to many. Nothing flashed across the screen to identify the gay chorus so as to not offend may and pa kettle in bum fuck.
Add in the distancing on DADT and DOMA
Tossed under the bus? Hell the bus drove off a long time ago and we are all still looking around at each other and picking lint out of our belly buttons.
If Hillary had won she would have distanced herself from DADT and DOMA but in the spirit of triangulation (what the Clinton's are experts at) I suspect she would have tossed us these 2 bones at the inauguration while saying here you go now don't bother me about DOMA and DADT
Screwed one way or the other and mccain wouldn't have had robinson or a gay choir at all.
FUCK em all!

JimmyBoyo, I'm not trying to change your opinion but the only choir who was introduced was the Navy choir. The choir that came out twice, they were dressed in the red and blue sweaters, didn't get an introduction. Frankly, while I would have liked to see Robinson, and it would have been nice if the choirs had been recognized, there is a huge difference between stuff like this and actual policy. When the administration does the same thing with policy issues, then we can start shrieking.

Obama mentioned "gay" in his speech on inclusivity at the end... that was meaningful to me. I loved Pete Seeger leading "This Land Is Your Land" with everyone, talk about inclusivity, he'd been blacklisted in the 50's. I would have loved Nina Simone to have lived for this concert, imagine her "Here Comes the Sun..."

Thanks for providing the coverage and for putting the invocation on your web site. At least we did finally get to see Robinson give the Invocation. It's not the prayer I'm interested in, it the participation of an out gay person.
