"I told him and Mrs. Obama that I was the first Irish, first woman, and
first openly gay Speaker of the New York City Council. I told the
President how grateful the Irish-American Community is
for his strong and continued support of the peace in the North of
Ireland. I then expressed my desire that he support issues of full LGBT
equality, and suggested that a good early action would be to support a
recent federal court ruling in San Francisco, requiring benefits to be
extended to the same sex partners of court employees."

Andy, I was so hoping your headline, "Jake Gyllenhaal puts a ring on it" would be breaking news that Jakey got a PA (accompanied by a pic of course). How you disappoint me!

How does the Vatican's revision of the pope's statement reduce its negative impact? How is "the risk is of increasing the problem" less likely to cause an increase in unprotective sex than "which, on the contrary, increase the problem"?

What intelligent person listens to anything the Pope has to say.
Kevin Spacey obviously mistook the The Big Penis book for his new biography, The Big Dick Book.
Ted Haggard? Who gives a shit, aren't his 15 minutes up?

Awfully considerate of Reese's camp to wait and leak the engagement rumor until the week before "Monster vs. Aliens" is released. That way we mention the movie AND the fake engagment at the same time! How thoughtful.

Ok, I know Denmark is a small place, I should know, I live there! But shouldn't that piece of news get a bit more attention here and not get grouped up with Ru Paul, Jake Gyllenhaal and beefcake of the moment? Seriously!
I was outraged by the gay media in Denmark too though. They handled it like an everyday news item and thought that a "news" item about a gay bar closing or not was more important! Us gays sometimes...ugh.
ps. turns out the gay bar wasn't closing, it was only having it's floors re-done to make them more soundproof for neighbours. Sigh.

re: the gay activist murdered in Cali, Colombia.
It may interest readers to know that both Cali's mayor is gay & the governor of Valle de Cauca department where Cali is located is also gay.
The linked article mentions that the police haven't shown much interest in pursuing the crime, and the mayor admits they (police) may be insensitive to LGBT issues. But about 90% of crime goes unsolved in Colombia, it's not specific to LGBT crimes & police indifference is endemic regardless of whether the victim of a crime is gay or not.
