  2. This is the woman who does the 21 English accents. She really is versatile.

  3. I thought she got the vacant look down pat.

  4. Uh, I don't think so. Actually, I thought it was kind of cruel, exaggerating the flaws of her last few performances.

  5. Damn. Was anyone else hoping for a Judy Garland/Madonna mashup based on the post title?

  6. Aaron I totally came here for the same thing lmao.

  7. Her young Judy is excellent, but her older Judy is not very accurate at all, more about the noise she makes on her own.

She gets an A for conception and a C+ for execution.

  8. She's actually got a nice powerful voice, I'd be interested to hear her, just singing like herself.

  9. no, AARON, you're too stupid to get the joke.

@TJ, what is not true about her performance?

  10. I think that was supposed to be a true tribute. The "drug addled adult" comment is from the towerload poster not Amy Walker, from what I can tell. She does a great job of affecting a change in character and age through her voice and expression.

  11. Aaron, that's what I thought it was going to be.

  12. I don't get it?

  13. Jeesh, she even cries at the end. Real tears.

  14. Take a listen to your copy of Judy Live at Carnegie Hall; it's like you're there. Garland grew to hate Over the Rainbow because of audience expections, plus it's really hard to sing.

  15. masterful. in 4 minutes she shows the hope and promise of youth squelched by the futility of trying to live up to other people's expectations. little wonder that we older queers love her. little wonder that so many of us, like her, have been forced by circumstance to look for artificial means to ameliorate the pain.

  16. Amazing to hear the changes in her voice as she progresses through the song. And she did sound very much like Ms. Garland through-out.

Although not quite perfect, her performance of older Judy was very good, and I give the over-all performance a B+.
