  1. It's the alcoholic closet queen who got it wrong.

    As he always does.

  2. Hitchens lusts after Limbaugh's anal cyst.

  3. Court: Florida must recognize adoptions by same-sex couples granted in other states.

This is the way we crack open hard core right wing states. There is NO defending equal ptrotection under the law. And, how many adoptive parents remain in the same state for the lives of their children. There is no way in hell that this can be defended! NO WAY!

The federal government recognizes marriage, not for us thanks to DOMA, but they also recognize adoption and the portability across state lines. There is no way you can argue that this is true for all adoptions except gay adoptions and show equal protectoin! The battle for civil rights may be a long one, but little by litte, state by state we will win.

  4. Hitchens is very right on some things, very wrong on others. His criticisms of religion are spot on.

I love Wanda and I thought she was hilarious. Rush and the others deserved the jabbing. They spew poison daily, but can't handle a bit of their own medicine? Suck it up.

  5. Really Christopher? Have another drink.

  6. Chris Hitchens is a grotesque man and a down right nasty queen. Does he ever have anything nice to say about anyone?

    Posted by: realitythink | May 14, 2009 3:31:16 PM

  7. I love watching Madonna trying to have her cake and eat it, too.

Does she want to be "edgy" and ass-grabby and banging twentysomethings ... or does she want to look stable and relationship-y for the Malawian courts?

She's going to implode with this schism.

  8. The link to the Florida story also has a poll on "gay adoption" -- our side is currently behind. VOTE!

  9. Freddy, what are you going on about?

God forbid anyone get dressed up for a costume gala and how dare anyone have a drink or cop a feel or get picture taken ever!

    Gimme a break.

  10. Actually, Dave, it's you and the rest of the guys here that got it wrong. I think what Hitchens was trying to say is that a comic at the White House Correspondents Dinner is supposed to criticize the president in his skit, not the opposition.

Look up Colbert's performance to see how it should be done.

    Posted by: Halcyon | May 14, 2009 4:34:43 PM

  11. So "Black Dyke" is OK with you?

Guess i'm a tad too "Politically Correct."

And last time I looked comics could take on anything they wanted.

Fabulous NPH news. What this means is that with him hosting WATCHING THE TONYS CAN MAKE YOU GAY!!!!

  12. The WHCD is a presidential roast designed to demonstrate that the press is "really" independent of government, but they failed that test this year. Hitchens has a love/hate relationship with politics here in the US, which doesn't follow the British public school model he is used to. He's str8 too.

    Posted by: anon | May 14, 2009 4:58:30 PM

  13. Bill O'Reilly is a bigot. Christopher Hitchens is an anti-gay bigot, this is the fourth time in a year he's said a derogatory remark about a lesbian.

    Posted by: Bill | May 14, 2009 5:08:10 PM

  14. For someone dishing it out like you do ("alcoholic closet queen", "lusting for anal cyst"), you sure are quick to get offended and really quick to call yourself politically correct.

I am OK with it because I've heard him condemning religion on gay issues and homophobia in general. But he doesn't care much about political correctness American style, not just on gay issues but on any issue. Do a youtube search, watch a few clips and you'll understand.

    Posted by: Halcyon | May 14, 2009 5:21:09 PM

  15. Hitchens is yet another vicious atheist (not that some religious people aren't rotten- please, I'm not trying to start that whole debate).

    Posted by: JT | May 14, 2009 5:24:18 PM

  16. Voted for marriage equality in NJ! Did anyone else? PLEASE!

  17. Seacrest need to be caught in tape with a big cock up his ass.

Posted by: Astro Boy | May 14, 2009 5:50:08 PM

  18. Christopher Hitchens is a racist, a fascist and a homophobe, very screwed up as a person. It doesn't surprise me that he would slur Wanda Sykes in public.

Posted by: Stuffed Animal | May 14, 2009 6:16:20 PM

  19. I really don't even understand Hitchens' comment. Like, what does he mean? Is he talking in code?

And if he wishes to slam Wanda Sykes, why?

    Is he really a homophobe?

    Again, I don't understand.

The great majority of atheists I know would never use the "d" word, at least not with any pejorative or nasty intent. (Richard Dawkins wouldn't use that word in 4.5 billion years.) That makes Hitchens' comments especially puzzling.

    Posted by: Matt | May 14, 2009 6:31:20 PM

  20. Seems I have to be the devil's advocate this evening. :)

Maybe he's not like the majority of atheists you know. Or maybe he is for gay rights, full equality and all that but he doesn't let his words pass through the politically correct filter that everyone in America today expects, especially minority groups (see Miss California bullshit storm that that asshole Perez and the rest of us created).

    Posted by: Halcyon | May 14, 2009 7:13:15 PM

  21. I'm an atheist too, dear.

"Or maybe he is for gay rights, full equality and all that but he doesn't let his words pass through the politically correct filter that everyone in America today expects"

Or maybe you just have your head up your ass like he does.

Scroll back. I put "Politically Correct" in quotes. Ever hear of sarcasm?

Posted by: David Ehrenstein | May 14, 2009 7:52:42 PM

  22. Yea, I've seen the quotes and detected your sarcasm attempt. It's just that you fail at it so I ignored it.

    Posted by: Halcyon | May 14, 2009 8:11:44 PM

  23. Hitchens is not a queen. And why do people posting here continue to toss that claim out against heinous people, as though it's an insult were it true? Do we really want them on our team?

Calling everyone who's unpleasant or antigay a queen is just bizarre. Some people really are just unpleasant and/or antigay, yet are straight. I don't see why you'd want them to be gay. Sometimes a jerk is just a jerk, not a closet case.

    Posted by: Paul R | May 14, 2009 10:34:29 PM

  24. Can someone tell Madonna to fuck off? I am sick of this bitch and her attention-seeking ways. She used gay men to build a power base - gullible that we are - and then prolonged her fame by using straight men's magazines images of lesbianism to grab the limelight. She appealed to the type of men who think girl-girl is "hot" and guy-guy is "gross". In other words, homophobes.

    Fuck off, Madge.

  25. Is Chrissy Hitchens a drama queen or what. Get the corn cob out of your puckered behind, Chrissy.
