Madonna Wears 'Thing' Everyone Will Talk About to Met Costume Gala

Madonna

Of course she did. She's Madonna. The dress is by Louis Vuitton. The 'thing' unclear.

Imho, however, she should have worn the shoes featured AFTER THE JUMP...

  2. Dear Guy Oseary,

Thank you for sitting idly by and in some respects in fact hastening the demise of Madonna's career.

  5. Hope she doesn't wear that to the adoption hearings! "Acid flashback" bad.

  6. No style, no taste, no class. Of course not -- It's Madonna.

  8. Good Lord, the lengths some people will go to in order to get attention.

Methinks the public could use a crash course in behavioral development and learn when to ignore.

  9. The "things" are bunny ears that were featured in a Louis Vuitton runway show for fall 2009. She's doing the ad campaign again for that season, so while it would make sense that she's wearing a look from that season, it just does not work.

It looked funny and campy on a 19 year-old model... but on her? Yikes.

  11. I saw another recent picture of her yesterday and both seemed as though her mouth was messed up. Is she making a weird face on purpose or is she now channeling Bugs Bunny?

  12. Poor thing! No talent...No style...attention whore Madonna....Your time is way WAY UP!!

  15. When I saw the headline, I expected to see a photo of her with two kidnapped brown orphans with their mouths superglued to her sagging tits.

This "What Amanda LeWhore Would Look Like Minus 100 Lbs. Of Silicone" is such a relief.

  16. A woman who could benefit from some thinking about the reason people coined the phrase "age appropriate." She runs the risk of becoming the Mae West of her generation. (Though for all I know that might be fine with her. In fact, thinking about it, that might have been her goal all along.)

  17. HOLY GEEZ YOU GUYS AND GALS!

    IT'S A COSTUME GALA !
Happens every year and the outfits are amazing!

    COME ON !

I can't believe the bitchy claws about costumes at a costume gala!

  18. As a Madonna fan who isn't ALWAYS pleased with her fashion choices in recent years (most of the Sticky & Sweet costumes, her Ed Hardy obsession), I think everything about this outfit is great and fun except the stupid rabbit ears. (Bad shot, by the way—she looks really beautiful, outfit be damned, in most of the others.) The only thing aside from the ears that is depressing is that while I love seeing Madonna dress up in weird shit (it's the Met Costume Gala, you jeans-wearing Gap clones!!!) I don't love the fact that this is really just a financial arrangement between her and Louis V. Not so much express yourself as expre$$ your$self.

But also, negative comments about her adopting children, having no talent, etc., are so tired and reflect so much more on the lazy wit and probable lack of accomplishment of the people who make them. Whatever imaginary battle you think you're in with Madonna personally or with what you have decided she represents...she won it long ago.

  19. What an attention whore. She looks awful in every sense, and as a costume, it looks STUPID. Costumes should make you gasp in awe, not fall to your knees in laughter.

PS She could show up with a Jewish lampshade on her head and baby skulls on bracelets, and the deranged Madonna fans would STILL cheer her as a fashion icon. Get

  20. Madonna looks beautiful, and full of the attitude she has earned. She is approaching being the Mae West of her generation, though has a few decades of brilliance still ahead of her before truly deserving such a glorious place of honor.

all of you armchair critics should really try to understand what it takes to be creative, and out in the public eye, and then go fuck your self-loathing selves.

  21. she's jumped the shark this time...

  22. Its obvious - Madonna is intentionally deconstructing the idea of high fashion!! she could have word a stunning gown but madonna is applying the very idea of "what is fashion?" fashion is anything you want it to be!!! its about personal style, risk, fun, drama! The perfect place to this is is at the Met Gala, an international whos who of fashion. its a high brow joke, Madonna is a world a activist, even she sees the irony in wasting precious money and resources into wearing miilion dollar dresses to a museum one night event.

  23. Please remember that the costumes/ outfits worn to the gala are actually chosen by Anna Wintour and then paired with their respective designers to the celebs/models. The event has been and always will be a fundraiser raising the visibility of fashion as an art form and in honor of The Costume Institute at The Met. Thus, yes, she is plugging for LV as is everyone stumping for the designers.

  24. Oh, Miss Rettenmund, after the inevitable nuclear holocaust they'll only be cockroaches and Madonna trolls like you left. Or is that redundant?

But how can someone who's devoted so much of his life to studying this crink's crack be surprised that MARdonna would do something motivated by BOTH her pathological need for attention and her avarice? Have they not always been mutually masturbatory, er, reinforcing?

And, this photo alone contradicts your ASSertion that she won the battle long ago.

But, more importantly, ya got any more Great Western Novels about gay male street whores coming out soon?
