Livestream of Hearings on Uniting American Families Act

Hearings on the Uniting American Families Act, which seeks to eliminate discrimination in the immigration laws by permitting permanent partners of United States citizens and lawful permanent residents to obtain lawful permanent resident status in the same manner as spouses of citizens and lawful permanent residents, are underway.

You can watch a livestream of the hearings here.

  1. The hearing is over, but our fight is NOT! Help your gay and lesbian brothers and sisters in a relationship with someone foreign-born to be able to sponsor their partner for immigration purposes to the US, like opposite-sex couples enjoy. Contact your member of the Congress, both houses, today and ask them to support UAFA, S.424 and H.R.1024! Thank you! James, US citizen living in Amsterdam with my same-sex partner due to discriminatory US immigration law. (Don't get me wrong, I love Amsterdam, but I want to move back HOME, California!)

  4. It was a hearing, Jake. Not a vote. This was the first hearing on the bill, and, unfortunately, UAFA is not expected to get a floor vote in Congress this year.
