40th Anniversary of Apollo Moon Mission Marked
Interest in the 1969 Apollo mission to the moon is spiking as it nears its anniversary on July 16th. A new sit, We Choose the Moon, allows you to re-experience the mission in real time.
The NYT has posted a number of interesting items for you space geeks: a timeline, a set of photographs from the mission, and a set of photos looking at American life during that time.

Very nice photo galleries at the Times. I can still picture where I was when Armstrong stepped on the moon, what an amazing event.
And to the "it was all a hoax" people, you're total losers.

You had me at "space geek." I was in high school when I watched the landing on TV. I applied to be the teacher on the Challenger. Thank you for the links!

Lots of exciting events are planned for July and August. Museums around the country have capsules from the various flights. Check out a space or air museum near you.
