Republican Senator's Grope Makes David Brooks Go into Gay Panic
NYT columnist David Brooks tells MSNBC a story about a Republican senator who groped his thigh at a dinner party.
Said Brooks: "You know, all three of us spend a lot of time covering politicians and I don't know about you guys, but in my view, they're all emotional freaks of one sort or another. They're guaranteed to invade your personal space, touch you. I sat next to a Republican senator once at dinner and he had his hand on my inner thigh the whole time. I was like, ehh, get me out of here."

Brooks is a leading and respected political writer and commentator. The problem is not his observation, which was given some time after the fact, it's the headline and the intolerance shown for being put in an uncomfortable situation.

Ugh, it's not gay panic. I wouldn't like it either, be it from men or women. I hate it when people I basically don't know get all touchy feely.
