I don't find him the least bit attractive, something seems off about his face. I can't put my finger on it but you know how sometimes you see someone with a mental disability and their face just doesn't look right, but you can't pin down a specific facial feature or features that make their face look abnormal? It the same thing here.

John M., I think what you're referring to is his genetic androgyny. It's not abnormal, it's just immaturity. Wait 'til he's about 35. THEN you'll really see something as long as he doesn't crash and burn like most of Hollyweird seems to do.
I think he'd make a really cute lesbian too. All in all, he's quite beautiful, but beauty comes in many forms. If I wasn't old enough to be his *aHEM!* *cough cough* older brother, I'd do it in a heartbeat!

He doesn't look androgynous, he looks "special". He reminds me of Quinn Bradlee, who has a condition called velocardiofacial syndrome.
Btw, John M, if I don't interject this you're about to be told that you're bitter -- because you could never get with that kind of "hotness". Because apparently that's what turns on many Towleroad readers.

Aside from what look like braces, I'd say he's learned to smolder quite nicely. I sincerely hope he's 18, lest I feel a little grimy. (Maybe Taylor and I need a shower...oh drat...)

Lautner isn't even native. It's really unfortunate that the creators of Twilight couldn't find a single native actor to play this character.

Matters of age and relative attractiveness aside, a few points should be made:
1. Taylor Lautner is part Native American, on his mother's side: Potawatomi and Ottawa
2. Lautner bears NONE of the classic facial characterisctics of congenital / chromosomal abnormalities, including trisomy 21, velocardial facial syndrome, and FAS
3. Those who have genuine knowlege of these issues eschew use of phraes like "special" and "mentally retarded" in favor of the more current terminology "Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities."
4. Most Intellectual and developmental disabilities are no easier to identify by facial appearance than are sexual orientations, including homosexuality.
Get your facts straight, men, before you spew your thinly veiled "isms."

I love that they're keeping his body under wraps. We've had 2 months of summer, and there hasn't even been a picture of Taylor Lautner at the beach or pool. He hasn't taken his shirt off for a single publicity thing. There's just that nipple teaser in the trailer. They're keeping him covered until the movie because everyone wants to see
