And Madonna can expect a copyright infringement lawsuit from Joe Jackson right about....now.
I realize that it's from the strain that singing puts on her voice, but she sounds like she smokes four packs a day.

I hate to say it, and believe me, I LOATHE Republicans, but I somewhat agree with King here. When I was finishing-up my Ph.D., I went to school with a man who at the time was a high-ranking official with the Orange County Sheriff's Office. He told me personally that Jackson used to rent-out the top floors at Disney resorts and that only himself and numerous boys were allowed access; he would have massive security forces blocking any adult from entering. Police never were able to collect evidence to bring forth charges but they suspected some serious problems. I loved Michael Jackson's music. But in my eyes, his legacy is tarnished by some of his poor choices and increasingly bizarre behaviors. He will always have my respect as an entertainer; but I personally will not remember him fondly. May he rest in peace.

Forget Archie Bunker a/k/a Cong. King. Bob Herbert, Op-Ed columnist of the NYT debunked the whole media generated circus about MJ and his essay is still in their archive. BTW, Herbert is black, so unlike the politician who is doing a racist, homophobic wink at his working class/ middle class Catholic constituency, Herbert has the chops to tell the truth about Jackson.
Vast corporate interests are behind the determined amnesia-spreading about wacko-Jacko and his unhealthy fixation with prepubescent kids as bed-mates. 25 million is not what anyone pays to settle a nuisance suit!

OK, this is too easy... Republicans don't exactly have a great standard of sexual morality lately to be making these kinds of charges.

Good for Madonna for giving Michael J. props as an entertainer and icon.
Good for Peter King for remembering the Vanity Fair in-depth article which detailed the $20 million molestation case Jackson settled out of court, and the long, established history he had of preying on young men--because people enabled him to do so.
In the words of Voice of the Beehive: "In every single heart/there are monsters, there are angels."

If the trend continues and King follows in the footsteps of Craig, Vitters, Ensign and Sanders, all hypocritical, vocally pro "family values" Republicans, I expect any minute he will be slapped with similar charges involving children.

A racist wink at his middle class Catholic constituency, Contrarian ? Boy, you really have everybody in neat little pigeonholes, don't you? Blacks, whites, military, Catholics...... I can't wait to hear your synopsis of the Jew.

If the trend continues and King follows in the footsteps of Craig, Vitters, Ensign and Sandford, all hypocritical, vocally pro-"family values" Republicans, then before long I expect him to be slapped with similar charges involving children.

I give credit to Bob Herbert (is that pronounced hay-BEAR) and Peter King. Michael Jackson was a superb performer. And a pedophile. People who ignore the latter in favor of the former are missing the complete picture.
Honestly, I find it pretty terrifying to think that a pedophile can be talented. It's easier to think a pedophile is a worthless human who deserves to be castrated. But the world is filled with pedophiles who sexually abuse children and some are actually talented, productive members of society. Talk about black and white. This is scary stuff.

I talked to someone who went to school with Jordan Chandler and he very vocal about how much he loved Michael, and how upsetting he found the way people treated Michael. So all the people hating on Michael on behalf of Jordan, please rethink.
The Vanity Fair article written by Maureen Orth were terribly biased and filled with blatant lies, especially the last article where she suggested and named a 13 year old Japanese boy she alleges Jackson abused. The boy now an adult said it was completely untrue and demanded a retraction. She refused. Orth sat with the prosecution every day so she is far from unbiased and purposefully put the article out to coincide with when the jury would be deliberating.
Also, on CNN earlier today there was a discussion about media surrounding Jackson, and one person said journalists are feeling guilty because accusers are now denying Michael did anything.
And for convinced the accusations are true, please consider his life was completely destroyed by these allegations and the recent trial. He was put through hell and clearly found life too painful to endure. is that not punishment enough?
Finally, I haven't read an article in the last 15 years about Jackson that hasn't reminded me of the allegations against him. Why can we not put it aside (especially since its unproven) while the person is put in the ground.

No, Fern, it's not. Not when you sexually assault a child.
