MSNBC: We Are Not Obsessed with Birthers
Says MSNBC anchor Tamryn Hall: "People are wondering why we are covering this. We are getting Twitters saying we're obsessed with this. We're not..."
But we will let the crazy, racist attorney of the Birther movement rant on about it for six minutes from Tel Aviv, AFTER THE JUMP...

She's so shrill, and can't get a coherent thought out without shouting them down.
Finishing thoughts...thats what she needs to do if she wants to be taken seriously.

I dunno, I kind of like how completely stupid people like this keep appearing on these shows to represent the "birther" cause while making themselves look like crackpots. Isn't summer when stupid stories drag out for eternity until the fall washes them from our memory?

I'm not sure it's such a bad thing that MSNBC plays this story so much. It's possible - i think it's even probable - that the more people here the birthers, the worse it is for Republicans. They look crazy AND racist.

This is one ugly drag queen. And that Eva Gabor wig was made at least 15 years ago. And he/she is a Dr. ? Dr. Pepper or Dr. Doolittle ?

Will somebody just slap the stupid bitch and be done with it? Jesus!

Nothing says serious attorney like pink satin, false eyelashes and platinum blond hair.

While Taitz does seem like a crazy wacko, I have to say: This clip does not speak very well of MSNBC's journalistic integrity. I agree that for an issue like this where, what is it, 30% of people in the South have been convinced by conspiracy theorists, it deserves a decent amount of airtime. But I am appalled at the way they treat this woman. Even if she does not answer the questions, there should be standards for congeniality. All of the offhand comments are uncalled for, the smirking, when the second interviewer essentially repeats those derogatory quotes again and again in her face. It reminds me of how Fox News treats liberals. Embarrassing.
And do you honestly think he would have said the thing about the taxi to anyone else he was hosting? Would he have surprised a more favored guest with an unexpected, unrelated question like that? Almost certainly not.

You know, I'm a gay conservative. I'm not a fan of Obama. I like him even less since he took office. However, I think these "birthers" are wackjobs. Obama, no matter what we say, is the legally elected president of the United States. If we don't like it, we vote him out next election. That's my plan.

When did batshit crazy equate to ratings gold? The fact that news networks are giving these psycho's any airtime and credence is baffling.
Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Girlfriend, please. Orly Taitz doesn't just seem like a crazy wacko, she is a crazy wacko. The only thing embarrasing in that clip is Orly Taitz. Any loud-mouth, irrational lunatic deserves to be treated like the nut they are, be it a crazy liberal on Fox News or a crazy Orly on MSNBC.

MSNBC's obsession with the 'birthers' is almost as ridiculous as Andy's obsession with Nick Adams. Please Andy, we've heard enough about that particular narcissist to last more than one life time.

What MSNBC is doing is not obsessive when you consider we have congressmen who refuse to denounce the birthers. They are worried about pissing off the fringe lunatic right and Rush Limbaugh.
They gave the woman a chance to intelligently explain the facts behind her assertions but she was disorderly and wouldn't answer the questions. They don't have time to waste with her bullshit.

Well Miss Prissy Steve
Our plan is to defeat you Log Cabinettes!
Who gives a fuck about your Log Cabinette ASS. You might as well join that birther brigade. I'm sure you're against the Gay agenda as well. Most of those Log Cabinette idiots are.
As for Miss Oreally Ida Tator Tots and her Birther brigade. Maybe after her intaking some more of that cheap Russian Vodka she'll jump off a cliff and take the birthers with her!

I think the birthers should also mention that because Obama "screwed up" the Oath of Office, they double-dog dare us to prove he's the legitimate President.
You know, because two insane ideas are better than one.

Who comes up with this stuff? A conspiracy theorist drag queen dressed as a 1950's greasy spoon diner waitress with an Israeli accent being interviewed by actual journalists? Pure comedy gold. Saturday Night Live should really steal these writers away from MSNBC for weekend update. Imagine what Amy Poehler could do with this?

What I mean to say is that in this clip they are actively trying to discredit this person. What should happen, had they more respect for their viewers, is that they ask a question, allow her to spout her bizarre fantasy, and then confront her with the facts. The birther movement withers in the front of factual evidence. By poking fun at her, mocking her opinions, and laughing under their breath, these newscasters may be providing hilarious television, but I can guarantee, anyone who is gullible enough to believe this birth certificate crap would not be dissuaded by this interview. Nor is there any intelligence to be taken away. All that happened was that they hosted a wacko, she refused to answer questions, and then they made fun of her. But y'know, conservative wackos react so well when you mock their leaders.

This is what the Republicans have left? This is the base?
Wow.

No matter the mystery surrounding the fake documents floating around the internet one thing is for sure, there is no birth certificate. If you spend over a million dollars in legal fees to prevent people from seeing your history there's a problem. No transparency here.

Favorite line: "Who cares about Ann Coulter, she is not an Israeli!" Ann must be seething that Orly has stolen her crazy blond wingnut tiara. She's the real Lady Gaga!
Harold, the only "problem" here is that an alarming percentage of Americans can't accept the basic fact that a black man is president.

A news agency with a correspondent in Kenya or a stringer in Kenya could perform a service by determining whether Kenya actually charged 7s6d (seven shillings and six pence) for a certified copy of a birth certificate in 1964, which this document claims to be, and which this document shows as its price.
Seven shillings and six pence (even in the African regional currency that was used at the time) would have been a lot of money for a poor country like Kenya in 1964.
Yes, it is likely that this document was forged, using an Australian birth certificate (which also cost 7s and 6d) as a model. But if a Kenyan certified copy cost a lot different from the 7s and 6d that this copy says, then the forgery would be proven overwhelmingly and without complicated discussion of Republic or Dominion, etc.

Hey Steve --- news flash for you there is no such thing as a "Gay Conservative".
Go look in the mirror and repeat "I am a Homosexual Conservative. There is no such thing as a Gay Conservative."
See the Gay Movement and Community is PROGRESSIVE... not Conservative.
So there can be no such thing as being a Gay Conservative.
Good luck with being a Homosexual Conservative. Conservatives REALLY like homosexuals. Great job choosing your friends.
