First Ad in Support of Referendum 71 Airs in Washington
A new ad for Referendum 71 in Washington, which doesn't specifically mention R-71 (because The Equal Rights Washington Education Fund is a non-profit and can't spend in electoral politics), has begun playing across the state.
The ad features Charlene Strong, who I've talked about before on this site. Strong's story, about the loss of her partner Kate Fleming in the 2006 Madison Valley flood, is the subject of a documentary called For My Wife. The documentary reveals the urgent need for equal rights for gay and lesbian couples and the power that one individual can have to achieve success in this area.
I've posted both the ad, and the incredible trailer for For My Wife, AFTER THE JUMP...
