  1. Maine *is* isolated in this battle, but they aren't whining about it. It's true that No on 1 isn't getting a lot of public support from "institutional advocates", but Mainers tend to be very sensitive to any appearance that outside elements are trying to sway them. I don't think it's a bad thing that they emphasize Mainers talking to Mainers. Both would be good. They need and deserve both, but a poorly crafted message from outsiders would do more damage than good, I think.

    Also, it was shitty of Jason to call Jesse "schlubby". "Clumsy, stupid and unattractive"? For shame, WP. Get a thesaurus.
