  1. I respect the fact the she has been thru alot of issues, with both family and drugs. She is a great example and inspiration to those dealing with similar issues who feel helpless.

But, you have to admit this is awful. The entire cd is lackluster. Why has she always been saddled with material way beneath her talent.

If your a true fan you'll take of the rose colored glasses and accept it.

    Maybe next cd.

  2. disagree completely. i like her cd, and it has some great songs on it. it's not up to you to decide who is a true fan.

  3. Ouch. This hurt.

The CD is actually pretty good, in a comforting, adult-comtemporary, remember-the-days kind of way.

This performance makes it obvious that her voice must have demanded an army of help in the studio.

I've loved Whitney, but she obviously won't be doing a tour.

  4. Sorry, guys. It's over. She doesn't sing so much as croak. Clive can throw millions of dollars behind Whitney's comeback as a business venture, but it won't wash with me. Her voice is whack.

  5. I had to stop listening at 1:23. It was hurting my ears.

  6. I loved Whitney so much back in the day when we were spared from knowing just how much of a crazy whacked-out mess she really is. She had so much potential before ruining her life with Bobby.

Why do celebrities feel we need to know every f'ed up detail about them! It's like seeing a Disney character with their costume head off! The illusion is so much better.

  7. .....difficult on so many levels. I wish her luck nonetheless and happier days ahead.

  8. You know, for anybody who sings (and she still can tho not the same way) there is always the right material—this is not it, agree the CD is a bore, but because everything on it—songs, arrangements, ALL THOSE SYNTHS—we are in 2009, not 1992. I think it is the producer's fault, in that he has advanced nothing and understood nothing of where she's at and the fact that that was then and this is now.

A tour? To sing those crappy songs night after night… I'd do crack in a second if I thought that was MY future.

  9. Sorry, but who is doing her styling, her clothes? The dress in the video for this song is like a prom reject from "Carrie". Get with it, Whitney. Hire Beyoncé's mother for Christ's sake…

  11. you think whitney or mariah will give you any of there money , fine something to do with your lives than hate people.

  12. MAriah fans please go figure how you are going to stop her album from flopping Whitney will mop the floor with sales and you guys need to quit hating across the net.

This performance was good and all live, something that any honest person will tell you that Mariah rarely does a 100% live performance- either it includes backing tracks or some part of lipsyncing.

Nippy do the dang thing, you sounded great.

  13. She's working hard. I respect her as an artist... i mean... Liza talk-sings, and some still fall all over her! O_O

  14. That was so all right. A few mistakes, but all live. She's still got it. Lotsa love Whit!

  15. Watched both videos and yes,she wasn't in in voice but think of this. Could you go on the world stage having had her career and her issues and get right back on that horse? Brave lady!

  16. She *had* a great voice, but she was never a great _singer_. She's probably more responsible than any other individual for foisting the "cartwheel when you could walk" style of pop singing on the world. Pariah and Celine - among others - then hopped on the bandwagon and pretty much drove any good singing off the pop charts for a generation with their mindless, Whitney-esque yodeling.

Madonna and even nutty Paula Abdul are better singers than Whitney, even though they can hardly carry a tune and their voices are thin as paper, because they actually pay attention to the f*cking material once in awhile. Whitney and her ilk? Not so much. The song is just something for their vocal barrage to assault, like a panzer division mowing down a kindergarten.

Now that Whitney's voice is trashed and she can physically no longer render the material with her formerly-dazzling array of annoying mannerisms, it's obvious what a crap singer she is. She needs to go away for a few years and learn how to sincerely emote and communicate without relying on obnoxious vocal gimmicks.

    Good luck with that.

Always been saddled with material beneath her talent?

When did you find out about Whitney, it wasn't until after:the Bodyguard,Preachers Wife, Waiting to Exhale that she started doing material that didn't exhibit her talent. But since the 80's her music was top quality.

  21. People need to mind their own business and before putting someone down reflect on your own lives. If you haven't been through something that you will have to comeback from then your time is coming. That's why its good to treat people like you want to be treated. We all get our day. Remember that. GOD, PEACE, and LOVE! WHITNEY KEEP PUSHING!!!!
