Bishop Harry Jackson: 'Marriage is on Life Support'
MSNBC's Contessa Brewer asks D.C.'s anti-gay bigot Bishop Harry Jackson, "People seem so energized to go out and fight same-sex marriage. why aren't they spending all that energy fighting divorce?"
On another note, in the earlier clip I posted of Brewer I was just noting the unfortunate use of the term "traditional marriage". I thought the rest of her reporting was excellent.

The headline should be "Bishop Harry Jackson confirms the 'pro-family' movement's next target is divorced people."

I told my right wing Irish Catholic family that if they really wanted to 'save' marriage they should make it against the law to divorce, and make it a felony to commit adultery, throw there asses in jail.

why is anyone not calling out the BIG ELEPHANT in the room...TAX the churches. they want to get involved in politics than its time. For them to own up to there striping of our rights. In CA. they're introducing a 2010 bill to be voted on that will 'outlaw divorce'. It's actually going to happen. It will be funny how that one turns out. Call they hypocrites out for what they really are - biggots, liars, and slaves to what is convenient.

I remember reading an article about reporting on race relations a few years ago. A reporter in the South said he was always disgusted that, during the black civil rights movement, they were required to present the opposition's viewpoints (i.e. the klan and other nuts who theorized that blacks were inferior) as if it were equally viable.
Today, people realize that it would be presposterous to invite somewhat to make false claims about blacks without being called on the bullsihit.
But this is largely where we're still at when the media presents gay issues. The hate groups are invited to make their false claims and the reporters don't even bother to note that their "research" is easily refuted.
I've seen a few examples of things getting better in some reports though, even in the past few weeks.

Andy, I think referring to him as "D.C.'s anti-gay bigot Bishop" is incorrect. He doesn't really live in the District. He lives in Maryland. He only took a residence in the city limits (in addition to his two homes in Maryland) because he got caught trying to affect our laws without any legal basis to do so. Where does his family live? Where do his children go to school?
