DC Agenda Born
Writes editor Kevin Naff: "The former staff of the Washington Blade remains united and DC
Agenda represents our effort at continuing the important mission and
work of the Blade. It will grow and evolve to include a much larger and
more diverse group of voices. But the core of the Washington Blade’s
work remains unchanged. We will cover Congress, the White House, the
LGBT rights movement, the D.C. marriage fight, local hate crimes and
other political issues important to the LGBT residents of the city. It’s been a tough week for us, but we are buoyed by the outpouring
of support from people all over the city and beyond. We welcome and
need your help and will respond to each offer as soon as possible.
Thank you to all who have pledged to stick with us, especially our
advertisers. Please visit savetheblade.com for updated information on
DC Agenda or to make a gift to support the new venture."

Reading the title of this article, I thought there was a hip, new show coming out called "DC Agenda." I envisioned it as a "Boston Legal"-type thing, but with politics and sexy guys thrown in (the one front and center comes to mind).
But reading the article, while I think it's a smart publication title, I got a little worried at the same time. I don't think naming influential publications after the thing conservatives accuse us as having is such a good thing. You know their penchant for hyperbole will lead them to conclude that this is our "official" newsletter - the gay TPM, as it were.
I will have to go to work on a pilot script for "DC Agenda," though. It's just begging for some smart, sexy writing, with a reporter who sleeps with the White House's sexy chief of staff.

Excellent. I know that the post regularly picked up GLTB stories from the deceased Blade. No one covered our issues in the nation like the Blade. Now the gap will be filled.

I hope DC Agenda does a better job at covering lesbian events and lesbian concerns than did the old and former Blade.

tick tick tick... And honestly, doesn't almost every guy in that picture have major gayface?

Oh, and eva you're so right. I mean, if only the washblade covered lesbian events and concerns, they'd have been saved!!!! Reporting from deep inside the michgan womyn's music festival, or talking about labels and gender queer issues is the new frontier! Crazy....I'm crazy for feering so roneree. Point taken. With the exeption of Ellen (not really), lgbt specific media is a bit phallocentric. I guess lesbians are too busy installing shelving and muddin' in their toyota tacomas to read magazines.
