  1. I saw Mike (the cast member shaking hands with Jared Polis) marching in the National Equality March in October in DC. He was wearing a t-shirt that read "I support equality in America".

  2. This show is probably the single thing responsible for the state of 'reality' TV today. The only thing real about the latest 8 douche bags is they are real douche bags.

  3. there hasn't been anything real about this show since season 4. it is so formulaic. it looks like the same stupid angst as every other season. maybe if they didn't live with all these drama queens life wouldn't be so difficult.

  5. MTV ought to film those Senators/Congressmen known as "the Family" that live in the "C" Street house.
America needs to take a close look at that reality.

  6. This will be the worst season! Mark my words!

  7. Actually, although the Real World has increasingly dropped the ball in recent seasons...it HAS done great things for exposing the youth in America to the LGBT community. Virtually every season featured AT LEAST one gay, big or transgendered cast member. The Brroklyn season last year was as good, if not better than the original seasons. It took a gay activisit, a conservative beauty queen, a mormon, a bisexual from SF, a 20 year old in the army who was sent back to Iraq before the season ended and a transgender all living together...it was riveting storylines and my friends and I were for the first time in 10 years invested in an MTV show. None of the cast members drank, they didn't party, and every episode had a thought provoking angle on relevant issues from gay rights, transgender discrimination, mormons viewpoint on gays, the war, being so broke you couldn't stay on the show...when the straight cast member gave $3,000 to the transgender castmate and told her it's just money and their friendship is invaluable, I remember my friends and I crying on our couch.

Yes, the cancun season was AWFUL and I didn't watch after the first episode....

But if MTV WANTS they CAN make The Real World engaging...it ALL depends on the cast and Brooklyn (along with Boston, San Fran, and Miami) were the best.

Washington should be promising just based on the city...hopefully it attracts a mature cast.

I also applaud the Real World for not only showing gay relationships, but showing gay couples in a normal way (making out, even having sex on t.v) 15 years ago! How many t.v shows did that in 94'? That show helped many gay kids in middle america see other gay kids in america do exist, are living life and CAN be on t.v.

  9. After 22 seasons, and still no Asian male cast member.

  10. They really do need to get more Asian and Hispanic houseguests on Real World shows. I will be anxious to see the DC show since I live 4 blocks from the Real World DC house but I never saw them around town while they were filming.

  11. Before you blame MTV of being racially insensitive. Maybe you should find out if any Hispanics, or Asians are going for the auditions then lets say that. And I have seen hispanics and Gay ones at that on it many times.

However, as for Polis fuck him he's a millionaire and is against any reform of healthcare!
