Watch: Vintage Maggie Gallagher
Good As You dug up this amusing flashback from the 80's.
The main feature here is the repartee between Gloria Allred and Morton Downey, Jr. but of specific interest to this audience is the brief cameo by homophobic bigot Maggie Gallagher when her main enemy was still feminism.
Watch, AFTER THE JUMP...

I think her main enemy always has been and always will be herself.

It's true, Maggie Gallagher hates everyone but she hates herself the most!

Maggie probably hates the mirror more, for cracking every time she looks into one.
I forgot how vile Downey Jr was.

Yup, she angry becuase she's fat and can't lose the weight. It's pretty simple.

Now I see why Maggie hates us. We've been giving her bad hair cuts since the 80s. It's a revenge thing.

Omg, what the hell show is this?

I can't wait until the video surfaces of her fingering herself.

Who put this show on the air? What a crazy TV relic, with Mort Downey Jr smoking while hosting, a chauvinistic male audience hooting, and the absurdly off-color jokes. As someone born in the 80s, I'm a little shocked that this went on then.

I think she's trying to overcome something... something big. This is a woman in desperate need of redemption. Her insane need to "save families" to me says she destroyed one at some point in her life. I'm guessing multiple abortions.

Well, she could start by wearing a bra in public...

I'd like to know when she moved from hating feminists to hating Gays.....She should hang out with Carrie Prejean and they could both complain how palinized they are

I can't believe how vividly clear the transition from sexism to homophobia is presented here, and that one wouldn't exist without the other.
I hope an outhouse falls on her.

seriously Ol' Mags probably has that sickness Uncle Aurther had - and she breaks every mirror she looks into.

Morton Downey Jr. was a trend-setter of shock TV show hosts in the 80's, followed later by Sally Jesse, Oprah in her less respectable days, etc. Downey's shtick was to be as obnoxious as possible. However, his show was not nationally syndicated. He was local to the NYC area. He died from lung cancer and was more apologetic in his last days. He was the troubled son of 50's era singer/actor Morton Downey.

Was this before or after she had pre-marital sex and got knocked up? I'm just curious how someone who doesn't like the feminist movement was certainly okay with her own sexual independence and identity to bang it out before getting married and having a bastard child out of wedlock?

Somebody call Sugarbaker's and tell Charlene that this bitch stole her top and her necklace.

Downey was definitely syndicated. We even got the show in South Carolina.

WTF?! That has to be the most misogynistic show and audience I've ever seen!
Props to Gloria Allred. She has more bigger cojones than any of the men in that studio combined.
