Nebraska Supreme Court rejects appeal by Westboro Baptist Church in flag desecration case: "Police arrested Phelps-Roper for wrapping a flag around her waist as a skirt and allowing her son to stand on another flag as she and other members of the church picketed the Bellevue, Neb., funeral of a soldier killed in Iraq. Represented by the American Civil Liberties Union of Nebraska, Phelps-Roper argued that she was exercising her constitutional right to 'symbolic expression' in disobeying a law passed in the 1970s against 'mutilating, defacing, defiling, burning or trampling' on a flag."

  1. Billy Corgan and Jessica Simpson are dating? Did not see that one coming.

Wow, not only is alt-rock officially dead, it's onetime goldenboys are jumping up and down on its grave. And apparently banging Jessica Simpson over its tombstone.

  2. The Situation is annoying. Barf.

And I have a question, IF we can get picture of different galaxies so clear that we can actually SEE the spiraling of them, how come we cannot get upclose pictures of stars and other planest within our OWN galaxy. I dont understand that???

  3. Mary Glasspool is not yet a bishop in the Episcopal Church. She has been elected only by the Diocese of LA. She still must receive consents from a majority of diocesan bishops and their standing cmtes. Currently, it is unclear if she will receive enough consents to be consecracted a bishop.

  4. Jersey Shore is so over the top that I can't help but love it. I think The Situation explained himself pretty well.

  5. That Sacha Baron Cohen story is just disgusting - how irresponsible can film-makers to fraudulently label someone a terrorist in that part of the world?!

They could easily have the blood of an innocent family on their hands, and an innocent family of peace charity workers no less.

Assuming the facts are indeed in Abu Aita's favor, I sincerely hope he does work away with all the millions and put them to good use.

  9. We can, bocca. But the pictures are so shocking that it would cause panic. No, it can only pick out traces of tiny planets around other stars in other solar systems in the milkway, because it's not that powerful. Those tiny little red dots are actually galaxies, not stars...so imagine trying to pick out a planet from a star in a star cluster in one of those galaxies. It'd be easier by several orders of magnitude to locate a needle in a haystack....that was the size of alaska. Simple explanation of how we indirectly identify them is by measuring the difference in light output of the star blocked by the orbiting planet as opposed to when it is unobstructed.

  11. As much as WBC and what they do disgust me. I think she had every right to wrap the flag around herself. The government does not have the right to quiet dissent in any form.

  12. The Situation is the only guy on that show that raised my unwaxed eyebrows, so to speak. A little questionable... I'd be the first in line to try him out!

  13. There's a huge problem with unconstitutional laws remaining on the books, which in NY means that various loitering laws are still used against gay men despite several attempts to get the police to stop enforcing them. If you get arrested for loitering in NY, don't plead guilty, get a good lawyer and make sure the judge understands current law.

  14. The word is "ILLEGAL" - don't fucking whitewash it. If you do something against the law (in this case immigration laws of the U.S.) it is called: ILLEGAL. Sotomayor is a joke.
