The Palm Beach Version of Terrorism

Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab wasn't the only 'belligerent' passenger taken forcibly off a flight today:

Ivana "Police say Ivana Trump has been escorted off a plane in Florida after she became belligerent when children were running and screaming in the aisles. Authorities say the first ex-wife of billionaire Donald Trump cussed at the children Saturday, and when flight attendants on the New York-bound plane tried to calm her, she became even more aggravated...She has not been charged in the incident at Palm Beach International Airport. Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies asked Trump to voluntarily exit the plane, but they said she refused. She was then escorted off."

  1. I don't blame her one bit. I would have joined in with her!

  2. I can only hope that the 'running and screaming' children were thrown off the flight first. If I was trapped in a small space with that going on, I'd throw a fit, too!

  3. Doesn't have her OWN plane? (Not even an itty bitty one?) lol! Children should be kept in baggage. I hope she sues!

  4. The children should have been restrained. She should have been carried off the plane in handcuffs.

  5. BRAVO Ivana! When will the airlines start offering child-free flights!

  6. When will these nasty rich white people be arrested for their onboard tantrums like the rest of us would? How about putting on headphones and listening to some music or better yet why not read a book - two surefire ways to calm down. Oh well, I guess being so utterly miserable and immature that you are incapable of controlling yourself is punishment enough. Seems there are more than a few here also. Happy Holidays!

  7. Well since this happened in Florida, I think it should have been put to a vote of the people! Which party would fellow passengers prefer to share their space with for the flight -- the screaming running children, or Ivana Trump?

I know which one I'd prefer to have sitting behind me on a flight...

  8. In this case the choice seemed to be between screaming running children (Really? how often does that happen?) and a screaming "adult" Ivana Trump.

  9. Screaming running children? The parents Should have been thrown off too.

  10. Trust me, Ivana has had other "problems" on flights recently.

  11. Good for her. Too many parents let their kids run wild today. It's the kids and their parents who should have been tossed off the plane.

  12. Damn for a second I thought Patsy Stone was acting up again.

  13. I'm a big fan of kids, but ENOUGH already with children always getting free reign in any social situation. What the hell happened to parental responsibility? The simple fact is most kids today are not taught ANYTHING about basic manners and respect for adults. Everyone says "They're just kids being kids, chill!" but an airplane is not Chucky Cheese, there's far too many things that could go wrong. Ivana getting belligerent is far less problematic than kids running rampant on a jet, IMO.

  14. children should always fly coach. that being said, the mother of Donald Trumps two adult children should always be given the use of a G5 at least. why is she even flying commercial? times are tough i tell you!

  15. I respect the comments about needing to restrain your children on a flight, and agree with them. Parents need to teach children how to behave. There is a time and place for running and screaming, and a plane is not it.

HOWEVER. The answer is not for the adults to curse at children which are not their own. That's when you call the flight attendants and let them speak with the parents. Cursing at someone else's kids is usually a bad idea. Makes you the villain.

  16. Just throw a foot out and enjoy watching them roll rather than run down the isle!

  17. I too find screaming children on an air flight to be horrible. they should be blocked from future flights, and their parents should be heavily fined. Another basic question: why did the airline staff permit such disruptions? Peace and quietness are highly important for fellow passengers who need to relex and de-stress.

  18. First how old were these children and were where their parents? They should have been escorted off the plane.
I'd pay extra for a no children allowed flight.

  19. Glad to see all the responses that think the children and the parents of the children were at fault. Yeah, I am a "Grump" but kids today are way too wild and undisciplined. Can't tell you the number of times I have been a hotel pool, a department store or even the library and the kids are running and screaming way beyond what is acceptable and I had to leave before I lost it.
Yes, Mommie Dearest..... Christina get the AX!

  20. I dont blame her for getting pissed off! Children running around on a plane is unaceptable. Where were the parents? They should have been escorted off for not teaching their children how to behave. Then again I doubt the parents know what appropriate behavior is themselves.

  21. I hope she wasn't flying coach!

  22. BTW, parents only appear when they think there is a lawsuit in their FAVOR......for those of you who think we are to severe, grumpy, etc....when was the last time you were in public?

    Posted by: Mattelboy | Dec 27, 2009 12:03:57 PM

  23. FREE IVANA!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again... I'll happily pay extra for an 18+ flight. No kids allowed. We've all had flights made insufferable by bratty, loud, poorly-behaved kids and their careless parents.

Posted by: Jasun mark | Dec 27, 2009 12:05:22 PM

  24. Maybe I'm a grump too, but I've been in stores where I've had to tell a kid to shut up and behave themselves and it works. I usually tell the parent to control their kids too. This is only in 'extreme' situations, like at places like The Home Depot, where kids shouldn't even be anyway or stores that are too crowded or there are elderly people out and about. When they're being dangerous to themselves and others is when someone has to step in. If parents don't take responsibility, somebody should.
