Is This New York's Next Governor?

Davis

As rumors swirl about a "career-ending" ruinous scandal for New York Governor David Paterson, the Daily News profiles a candidate with an eye on his job — "Manhattan Madam" Kristin Davis:

"Davis has spoken in the past about running against former Gov. (and alleged former client) Eliot Spitzer - to draw attention to the fact that she served nearly four months on Rikers Island while Client 9 escaped indictment. 'This started out being about Spitzer,' admitted Stone, who in 2007 tipped off the FBI to Spitzer's hooker habit. 'But now that it looks like he won't run, Kristin still wants to use her celebrity to highlight a reform agenda.' Davis laid out her credentials last weekend at a Libertarian Party convention on the lower East Side. 'I was valedictorian of my high-school class,' said the golden-tressed Davis, sporting a modest black suit but wicked Christian Louboutins with 5-inch heels. 'I worked 10 years in finance. I was vice president of a hedge fund. I went on to build a multimillion-dollar business from scratch.' While branding 'taxation as confiscation,' the former escort empress said the legalization of prostitution and marijuana could provide $2.5 billion in revenue to help close the budget gap. 'I'm a natural Libertarian,' said Davis, who also embraces gay marriage and the views of the National Rifle Association."

  3. I'd vote for this hot mess! Jesse Ventura once remarked to one dude on gay marriage "I'll let you have your husband if you let me have my gun". That's the Libertarian way, live and let live, and if you have always thought you had no choice other than the current two party nightmare, look at the LP platform.

  4. So just because she's a "whore" she's unqualified? And a "whore" in what way, because she's a woman? I thought our community was more open minded when it came to sex and prostitution et al? Pretty sexist statement unless I'm missing some sort of sarcasam.

  5. I would always vote for a self identified whore over an in the closet whore. Also she has my vote if only for the wonderful porno parody that will surely come.

  6. I hope Spitzer runs again. Now that it's common knowledge that he likes to use escort services, you know what you are voting for. Just a cursory look at his life in the public makes me think it's worth overlooking this one little foible.

As Joy Behar would say, "So what?"

  7. She had me until her ridiculous "taxation is confiscation" bullshit. I don't judge you for getting paid for sex, but I sure as hell judge you for being so stupid. Fine, don't pay taxes, but don't bother calling 911 in an emergency, don't reap the benefits of an educated society, and be sure to send back your Social Security check in a few years when Spitzer and company aren't buying anymore. Oh, and stay the hell off my roads.

  8. With the state of politics in any given country in the world, why not have a former madam/prostitute elected as Governor of the Great State of New York?

She couldn't be much worse, can she? I hope that people don't attack her because of her open back ground. Look at how many politicians that we elect, only to resign or be defeated in disgrace because of skeletons in their closet!

  9. Well, at least she has a plan in increasing revenue.lol Come to think of it, what if? Nobody would really know what could happen if she became Governor. Scary, but I'm just trying to have an open mind here.
