George Michael Discovers iPhone Alternative to Bushes, Restrooms
George Michael has found an alternative to cottaging, according to tabloids:
"According to Michael’s pals, the 46-year-old hitmaker is cleverly using Grindr app to locate partners and meet them as he vacations Down Under. 'George has been using the application loads since he has been in Oz as he doesn’t know the local spots,' the Daily Star quoted an insider, as saying. The source added: 'It’s great for him as he can find out exactly where the nearest people are discreetly without having to ask around in bars where he would be recognised.' Melbourne blogger Richard Taylor said: 'Apparently George Michael was on Grindr during the break at his show last night.' The news comes just days after Michael was snapped having fun with men on his yacht off Sydney Harbour."

OMG, I laughed so hard when I saw the photo and thought "certainly he could have used a better photo." I am glad to see that is not the photo he used.

- Red circle with a number means the number of message(s) from that person
- Star means you have labeled them as a "favorite"

Is it possible to post a fake picture on Grindr? Like, if you had it out for George Michael and wanted to fuel some gossip and bad press, could you switch your picture with an unflattering picture of his and post it like it is above? Not on Grindr so I don't know (no judgment).
Just pointing out that if that's possible, maybe GM didn't do this, and we could back up off being so nasty towards him (one of us gays). I have seen people do the same thing on Craigslist, so a little thought before typing, fellahs...

Smokey, I'm far from a prude. But hooking up with random people from an iPhone is not only slutty (which I'm fine with) but its dangerous, irresponsible and creepy (in MY opinion). I don't need to get laid so bad that I'd do it what someone who "pings" me and happens to be near by. Try porn instead.
And not that straight people don't do things like this (they certinaly do) but this is the kinda stuff people use against us constantly.

I hadn't heard of "grindr" until right now. Apparently, it's a social networking application for iphones marketed toward gay and bisexual men. The photos are ranked nearest to farthest from you. Why would they do that? Maybe so people can get lunch or go on a date or a see a movie together? I imagine it's to become friends.

My first thought was that no way was this a real Australian Grindr shot as most guys are pathologically afraid of showing their faces. It actually looks like it's an altered version of the sample screen from the iTunes store.
George Michael is 47 in June.
You can put any photo or text you like as long as it meets Apple's puritanical requirements for self-expression. Seriously they're clamping down so hard on apps that I'm sure they'll be banning Facebook for allowing juicy status updates.
