Report: Christoper Hitchens Will Reveal His Bisexuality
The Daily Mail reports that Christopher Hitchens will reveal in an upcoming autobiography, titled Hitch-22, that he slept with two men in college who would later work for Margaret Thatcher. The paper says this about the writer:
"But those who knew 'Hitch' in his Balliol College years, between 1967 and 1970, when he read Politics, Philosophy and Economics while simultaneously running amok as a rabid Trotskyist (he got a third-class degree, incidentally), have little doubt his claims are true.
For although he has always enjoyed a reputation as a womaniser, at Oxford Hitchens was known to be bisexual.
According to one contemporary: 'He had a reputation for being AC/DC and, although a Trot, he was fancied by quite a few gay Tories and moved in those circles.'"

Hitch's bisexuality is obviously the source of his Clinton antipathy.
They were at Oxford together and "dated" the smae girl. Was this accomplished individually or were they "pulling train"?
I suspect the latter.

Will he admit he's an asshole too?

Yawn.
(Unless Trotskyite is code for diarrhea-fetishist--then eeeccchh.)

you guys are too kind posting that pic... it must be the last time he looked attractive.
He should've embraced the gay; he'd be a LOT prettier today.
:)
Embrace the gay, baby!

good one david ehrenstein. he, like andrew sullivan and the little hoary-faced, liver-lipped bastard, dennis miller put a finger up their assholes then put it up to the four winds to see which way they are blowing. consistency is not their forte.

I'm curious about the two "wet liberals" were. Any guesses?

How does ancient history resurrect itself as news? If this is the case, we would all be bisexuals. Furthermore, whatever his political views, he is intelligent and articulate, which these days, is more than enough.

I like that he is an atheist, but his politics are too far right..

hmm, it appears that the Daily Fail is about a week late on this story...parts of Hitchen's book were serialised in the Review section of last Sunday's Sunday Times - in fact the bit about having 'experiences' with two men who went on to form part of Thatcher's government was actually on the front page of last week's Sunday Times itself. He doesnt name the men and it's basically schoolboy experiences he talks about...pretty standard stuff for public shcoolboys back then i imagine!

Who cares? The last thing I want to associate with christopher hitchens is any kind of sex life. It's repulsive to contemplate...no offense, but he's not famous because of his looks.

Wow, a lot of angry homosexuals are posting negative things about christopher hitchens. HIs physical appearance is the obvious cheap shot, and requires no thought at all to draw attention to for a quick laugh. And this was always the case if that photo is an indication of what he looked like in his youth. But, you can't deny that he's extremely intelligent. More intelligent by far than andrew sullivan. He knows how to write in that he's enjoyable to read.

He is a vile, vile Tory hypocrite who supported Thatcher and her politics of hate and eagerly joined in the scrum of arrogant wealthy Tories as they sold off the family silver of England and reaped the rewards.

Glad to get that off my chest! Phew!!!

The majority of comments posted above are so completely vacuous and devoid of intelligent argument that I am embarrassed for those that wrote them. Why support your thesis with facts when you can just engage in ad hominem attacks on how he looks. Could those comments be any more insipid.
Attacking him for being conservative only shows how categories and labels fail when complex issues are being discussed. For the uninformed, Hitchens has always advocated equal rights for sexual minorities, despite being fairly conservative in matters of foreign policy. So are you going to attack him here when you might not agree with him on how to best combat terrorism, for example. If so, then you might as well attack Ted Olson, who along with the very conservative Solicitor General under W. George Bush, is one of the two lead lawyers fighting Proposition 8 in California.
Furthermore, just because Hitchens engaged in sexual activity with two men in college does not necessarily make him bi-sexual. Grow up, people!!

Go back to your closet, wlburinla! Away with you and your self loathing politics.

David Ehrensqueef is jealous that his blog isn't as widely read as Christopher Hitchens

One more point in favour. Bravo!

There are a number of public personas I am less than proud of when they come out. I heard Hitchens speak at an event a couple of years ago and was repulsed by the barely veiled racism in his snarky remarks about claims of election fraud in the 2004 presidential election. Still can't stand him.

The fact that he upsets the obsessed PC slimebags is enough to make me like him.

As I said... a vile Tory who fully supported Thatcher and ger rape of the working classes in the UK.
Total cnut!

@Tank: You just proved my point by engaging in an ad hominem attack on me without any basis for doing so.
For the record, I'm not in the closet, not self-loathing. I just don't think in the same reductive manner that you and the majority of the mindless lemmings on the reflexive left do. There is nothing in my post that could remotely be considered self-loathing.
My advice to you would be to ask your university for a refund as it apparently did not give you the tools to engage in critical analytical thinking.

well said wilburinla. People still slating him over what he might have said or done 25 years ago is sad. Look at his inspiring attack on the catholic church and his defence of homosexuality. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xbk46d_shortfilms
