  1. When you alienate your base and INSULT them, the base will alienate you The Dems lame typical blabber of TALK no action and 'where are they gonna go?' means nothing. The days of voting 4 someone with a 'D' next 2 their name is OVAH! I am also keeping my pledge DON'T ASK DON'T GIVE

  2. There could be advantages for gay democrats (and democrats in general) if we get the "pink flu" come election day this November. One is, the Republicans would have to share blame for what will inevitably be a difficult economic time until the general election in 2012. That would help Obama win a second term, which in my mind is more important, if for no other reason than there are always potential supreme court appointments.

I haven't given a dime to the DNC since the last general election because of their gross negligence. Not to say I won't in the future, but, I'd rather support on the ground efforts like Courage who are actually working in the trenches to help my family. When the DNC gets some balls, I'll start ponying up again.

  3. We want marriage, not civil unions. Since President Obama has stated that marriage is between 1 man and 1 woman in 08, I believe I will not vote for anyone this November; as I can say that I am not the only one with this way of thinking. If President Obama changes his stance I will continue to support his agenda, if not he is on his own. Let the Republicans ruin this country as I am sure that the 1st thing they will do is overturn Roe v. Wade; mark my words! Since gays cannot get married, it is no skin off of my ass; however, if President Obama passes legislation some inclusive that endorses some equality; till then, my vote will be unchanged. Enough paltry bits here and there...we want real action!

  4. Dear Tim Kaine, I am totally incensed. I just learned that the DNC, which I have long supported, has been making phone calls in support of Sen. Bennett. He has taken over 1 million dollars from Wall St. His opponent is a fine candidate who does not take PAC or special interest money. The DNC has received its last contribution from this household. We will continue to support the Democrats we like individually. The President is a great disappointment. He has thrown women's rights under the bus.( I think the platform of the Democratic Party includes women's reproductive rights.) He has appointed the wolf-hating, rancher-appeasing Ken Salazar , over the well-founded objections of the environmental community. And now following the catastrophic oil spill has not even fired the SOB! I could go on , but you get the point. When is the President ( and the VP) going to stand up to the right wing? He has command of the airwaves and neither of them uses it. Distortions from Fox News are passed on every day and never refuted. The public is not aware of the total obstructiveness of Senate Republicans. (See Packer in the current
New Yorker issue.) The President supported The weaselly Arlen Specter over Joe Sestak! Sen Specter, you may recall, ushered in at least three of the right wing extremists you have now corrupted the Supreme Court. ON and On and On. I just found out Rahm Emmanuel talked the President out of appointing Howard Dean as Health Secretary. I am deeply deeply dissatisified with my party . I have been an activist for nearly all my adult life.
