For someone engaging in that right of peaceful counter-demonstration to be assaulted by a NOM attendee is wholly unacceptable and the leaders of this organization should be taking steps not simply to prevent any such behavior in the future, but to exclude from their ranks anyone who was engaged in it in the past.”

  1. RE: Röyksopp's "The Drug"

Is "the drug" supposed to be Ambien? Because that shit song put me to sleep. Damn. I was looking forward to that CD.

  2. I hope The Firm doesn't pull a Jesse Jackson and arrange a nice big "Donate Now" for itself out of the Target situation.

  3. Got a survey from the DNC the other day asking what the party's priorities should be. Fourteen options to choose from; "immigration reform" and "improving race relations" made the list but there was no mention of anything having to do with DOMA, DADT, or ENDA.

And then they had the nerve to ask me for money!

  4. In regard to PeeWee... I am right handed and I play with my WeeWee with my left! I wouldn't however swear to that in court against Mr. Herman :)

And to Mr. Norcross: Gratz! He is a South Florida hero because of Andrew. I knew he wouldn't stay retired!! :)

  10. Signorile has given a whopping $250 (back in 2006) to political candidates.

Nice that he can tell others how to spend their hard-earned money but not show any inclination to make any donations on his own over the last decade or so.

  11. @GEOFFM: I second that. I watch TWC and he was heavily promoted this week (I live in southern Louisiana and we were dealing with a tropical weather threat) and he was the new "severe weather expert."

I was familiar with his awesome coverage from the "bunker" inside the Miami affiliate during Hurricane Andrew. Is he mentioned here (and I hesitate to ask this) because he's openly gay?

  12. Target being forced to donate to a gay friendly organization would have no effect on my decision to no longer shop there. I just feel disgusted with them now that I know who's behind the bullseye. And I LOVED Target, too. I just can't iamgine ever being comfortable spending another dollar there..

  13. Is it just me or is Steinhafel of Target promoting his own agenda through his company? After all, he and his wife each made the maximum personal donation to MN Forward. Just saying!
