He's been fully indoctrinated by the Religious Right's false arguments — that military chaplains won't be able to continue to preach morally justifiable discrimination; that gays are just lying in wait to assault straight soldiers if only given the cover of open service."

  2. This Polish Krystian Legierski is good looking. All the best for his new position in a conservative and Catholic Poland.

  3. Mark Pryor of Arkansas is a democrat, not a republican, just for the record

    Posted by: Phil | Nov 29, 2010 3:45:59 PM

  4. That's Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR), unfortunately...

    Posted by: Brian | Nov 29, 2010 3:50:14 PM

  5. Unfortunately, yes, Pryor is a Democrat; this means we'll need at least 3 (right?) Republicans to overcome the filibuster, unless he goes against the filibuster but also against the repeal. Really bad news!

  6. Im gay, met Mixner (briefly), and I still dont know if Id recognize him on the street. So your going to tell me 2 straight guys recognized him, spat on him, and called him "King of the Faggots?" I call major BS here

  7. Good shots of A-Rod, but some ugly homeless woman kept getting in the frames.

  8. The revised map of the world is questionable.

I also find the Mixner story hard to comprehend.

Apparently Obama wants to be a one-term president. Civil servant pay raises? WTF? How many more votes does he want to lose?

  9. Glad to see others skeptical of Mixner too.

  10. @Paul R:
It's a pay freeze, but that will cost him more votes in the end. (He probably never had the votes of people loving the idea.) A cut for "high-earners" might work, but a general freeze?

The map is indeed strange and would transfer a lot of people into either hot or icy deserts or other unsuitable land.

  11. @Chris, I meant to say "freezes," not raises. That buys him no votes with pretty much anyone.

The map is also odd in terms of population and land area, with the proportions looking off.

  12. I'm pretty skeptical of the Mixner story as well, but I think one of the comments there is very instructive. Why *don't* we have a nasty, derogatory and insulting name for the homophobes that we can reply with, as needed?

  13. RE: Street Fight
Something tells me the white (ceiling) cat is carrying a scent that is making the other animals react aggressively.
    That, or she is dying.

  14. About Capleton: Apparently the owners and managers of Harlow's Nightclub in Sacramento have no problem presenting a performer who has a history of calling for LGBT people to be killed. For information about Capleton, see http://bit.ly/9lg1KD

    Harlow's canceled Capleton in 2004 http://bit.ly/aCWkmF

They also canceled him in 2009.

Harlow's did the right thing by canceling Capleton in 2004 and 2009.

Harlow's was planning to cancel him for 11/28/10, but Capleton fans called and emailed the club, so the club restored Capleton to their schedule http://bit.ly/gS3XDn

  15. If I was Harry Reid, I'd tell Mark Pryor to become a Republican.

  16. Wowza... I find that polish politician much more attractive than the "male model fix"

  17. Yup, I'm on board with the Mixner story not jiving with me. Did he get spit on? Maybe. But upon a careful review of his account, he doesn't actually say whether or not he believed they were straight. But if the weren't straight, why would two gay men spit on another gay man, and call him an epithet, unless a disgust for him and his legacy were at play instead of homophobia. It's just hard for me to believe that two relatively young, well-dressed (white? - he would have mentioned otherwise, I'm sure) straight guys, even ones who are on a campaign to bully gay men, would recognize him as a leader in our community and brand him with the moniker "King of the Faggots". Doesn't that go to Madonna? Hmmm...
