Watch: Rev. Joel Osteen Confronted on 'The View' About His Views That the Bible is Against Gays and Homosexuality is a Choice
You may recall that last time Rev. Joel Osteen appeared on The View he said "homosexuality is not God's best." (clip HERE)
Yesterday, he attempted to clarify those remarks in another appearance (and I don't think he really clarified much: "I don't think it's God's best for your life. I don't think it's not in God's best making us.
He was also asked about megachurch pastor Jim Swilley, and was confronted by Whoopi and Joy Behar about his remarks that the Bible is against gays and homosexuality is a choice.
Unfortunately, Sherri changes the topic before they can really get into it. Can I have hands on who thinks Osteen is a closet case?

For the record, God says nothing against being gay. Neither does Jesus. However, some of the men who wrote the bible do. Joel Osteen knows squat about what God "thinks".
And, IMHO, yes. I do think that Joel is gay and I have for years, long before he become famous for his namby-pamby treacle about "God wants you to be happy and prosper" crap and sold millions of books promoting that dreck.
Joel Osteen is also one of the most annoying public speakers ever. Watch him sometime. He can never look at his audience directly. He turns his head and body to the left, then to the right, but he keeps his eyes closed while he is speaking. He is not the preacher his father was, that's for sure.

Considering there's only six vague references to homosexuality in the entire Bible, all but one in the old Testament, and the fact that Jesus never uttered one word about anything regarding sex at all, no Joel, the Bible does not support your bigoted views. That's all you, pal, don't blaspheme God with your hate like that.
Jesus did meet an openly gay man once, as recorded in the New Testament. The story of the Centurian involves a gay soldier and his gay sex slave. Jesus would have known exactly what was meant by the Latin word used by the Centurian to describe his "slave." So, what was Jesus' reaction? Hate? Repudiation? Condemnation? No. Ultimate praise. "I have not seen this kind of faith in all of Judea."
Again, sorry Joel. This is your bigotry and hate - not God's.

@ gravytrain - It seems that their program director instructed Sherri to change the topic. Right at the end of Whoopi's (very awesome) statement, she said, "I'm sorry Sherri, I hear her, go ahead," and points to her ear.
Someone behind the scenes was forcing them to change the topic, which is really a shame.

Osteen didn't bring up homosexuality, Barbara WaWa did. I think Osteen would have rather talked about the Christmas book. Of course, Joy who professes to be so tolerant of others, isn't very tolerant of anyone with an opinion different from hers. Joy, can you say... "hypocrite!"

I think what Osteen is trying to say is that there is a scripture that specifically addresses homosexuality...that cannot be ignored. However, no matter what one particular scripture may say, Christianity is not about denying God's love to anyone, no matter whether we believe they have sinned or not.

TWIEWER, that's a false argument. It is not hypocrisy to be intolerant of those who are anti-gay. Homosexuality is immutable fact, not a chosen belief system like religion. Why not preach against one's religion, which is a choice??

Colossians 3:22 = Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.
1 Timothy 6:1 = All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God's name and our teaching may not be slandered.
Titus 2:9 = Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them,
1 Peter 2:18 = Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.
There are many, and I do mean MANY, more proslavery verses in the Bible than there are anti-Gay verses.
P.S. Sodom and Gomorrah is complete fiction. So is Moses, Adam &Eve, Noah and most of the characters in the Bible. When your scriptures are a lie then your god is a lie. But then you don’t care about the lies as long as you get to hate that’s what really matters to you.

Hi this is Ladd again. If you have a deck of cards, and there are just a few missing.....the whole deck is worthless! If you don't believe several parts of the Bible, then why bother to even consider it in the first place? God is capable of insiring a book and, having it come exactly the way God intended! Just read the last two scriptures in the book of Revelations. Another point God is not like the mom at the mall that tells "Little Johnnie"......."Now I told you seventeen times, that if you act up you are going to get a spanking! God only mentions things once!!! Sometimes a scripture is referenced for specific purposes, but God does not have to repeat! When was the last time YOU told Jesus, or Jehovah how much you love then?
