I wish they did more on this! It was funny but didn’t go as far as it totally could have!

I have a feeling that crazy guy caught on at some point and cut it short.

Real cute! (And the runners in the beginning are super hot)

the best LGBT advocate we can have: Andrew Shirvell

given the Daily Show’s large young audience, this segment helps convince the younger generations of voters why LGBT people need full equality and protection..

Thanks Andrew Shirvell for helping make the case for LGBT equality even stronger. Keep talking.

It always amazes me that these nut cases go on The Daily Show or the Colbert Report. Are they living under a rock? The Shirvell bit was a great bit to play after the huge rally this past weekend.

He is going before a hearing this week, to determine if he should be disbarred, let’s hope they do the right thing and he goes to work for Fox.

  4. Gregoire says

This was one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen. What the fuck was Andrew thinking? So glad he looks like an asshole.

Bravo to the Daily Show for both this and the ‘Back of the Bus’ segment.

  5. alguien says

what a pathetically sad little gnome andrew shrivel (typo but it stays) is.

it must be really, really awful to wake up every morning and go out into the world living that life.

  6. says

I love it when the subject has no freakin’ idea that he’s not on a “real news show” – this Shirvell guy is playing hockey with a warped puck. Beware.

  7. B-rod says

The guy is incoherent, just grasping for words to use to explain his hatred but he’s really inarticulate. Which begs the question: How did this guy ever get the job of Assistant Attorney General? If he is this incoherent in a “news” interview, what about a job interview? I wouldn’t hire him to be the copy boy.

  8. Chris in Irvine says

My theory is that this Andrew guy is a closet-case gay and he tried to hit it with Chris Armstrong. Armstrong rejected him and now Andrew is playing the cyberbully-victim role. He should be disbarred and put in jail, where he will get all the attention.

  9. patrick nyc says

Shirvell is closely linked with the right wing religious groups in MI, he got his job after helping get his boss Cox elected, which is why he has not been fired. Even though Cox is not running for AG again, he clearly fears the political power of these nuts.

That is the reason he was put on leave, not fired, and he’s leaving it to the MI bar association to punish Shirvell, so his hands are not dirty.

  10. erick70115 says

This guy looks like Pee Wee Herman’s creepy evil brother and acts flat out like a stalker. Fire his butt and then disbar him.

  11. Jeff says

His boss, Cox, has made a statement that he finds Shirvell’s actions immature. I don’t think he’s gonna have his job much longer.

  12. mike says

The amazing thing is how Shirvell, like so many right-wing, nut-bags, turns it all around and makes himself the victim! The guy is an absolute poster-boy for what we can expect the next two years after the election results come in tonight. I hope that he does get disbarred. I fear, though, that if he does, he’ll probably exercise his “second amendment rights” and go postal.

  13. Hue-Man says

I can’t imagine what Mr. Armstrong’s life is like knowing that he is being stalked by a clearly mentally-disturbed individual. Being a student is tough enough without worrying whether this wacko is going to go escalate; he has lost touch with this world which makes him extremely dangerous.

  14. Seth Golia says

I find it incredible that Shirvell would go on the Daily Show. There is no question that he knows what kind of a show it is. This comes a couple of months after Scott Lively went on to make a fool of himself babbling about gay Nazis. Lively is a vile man, but he isn’t stupid or culturally clueless. It makes no sense to me why these 2 would go on.

  15. Mike says

My pet theory is that Shirvell ran for and lost a race for student council while at U of M… and like any good closet case blamed it on his homosexuality. Seeing an out, gay, (attractive), male do what he couldn’t must really set him off.

Oh, and he probably wanks to Chris Armstrong and then cries himself to sleep.

  16. Kyle Sullivan says

Psycho-faggot, qu’est-ce que c’est? Talk about a self-loathing closet case (who too perfectly fits the lyrics of that song). Chris Armstrong better watch his back. I can just see something nasty involving Andrew Shirvell and a .38 or a shotgun. He’s just that close to insane.

  17. Mark says

Shrivel should have a chat with Stephen Baldwin on how expensive it is to commit career suicide by being a religious nut job.

  18. princely54 says

Did he borrow that jacket from his gay uncle? Does anyone in his life have any idea what The Daily Show is about??

  19. rajipe says

Once again, a so-called “religious”, right wing nut, with a barrage of personality problems, in a high profile position, carrying on his religious personal crusade against other human beings…FOR NO PARTICULAR REASON…just HATE…and to think that there ARE A LOT OF THEM LIKE this pee wee herman in CONGRESS is even scarier…
