Alan Cumming on gay actors playing straight: “It’s not about your work… It’s about how you exist as a person in the world, and the idea that your work is more important than you as a person is a horrible, horrible message. I always think about a little gay boy in Wisconsin or a little lesbian in Arkansas seeing someone like me, and if I cannot be open in my life, how on earth can they? It had the controversy around Queers Against Israeli Apartheid (QUAIA), which split the city’s gay community and 'threatened to bankrupt' the organization. Cher shouldnt worry. The Oscars 'Best Song' list is even worse than the Grammys idea of whats good. Its a compliment that you dont get nominated.

Oh, Cher. Yes, this years nominees are pretty dismal, but they are masterworks compared to your heinous Diane Warren debacle. I'm just grateful that I don't have to see/hear you neigh your way through the number on Oscar night.

That Toronto Life report on Pride Toronto is sensationalistic and totally inaccurate.
The most thorough analysis, I think, can be found in Toronto's Xtra, which highlights the MAJOR conflict of interest that took place last year when Tracey Sandilands, the Executive Director, contracted her wife (or, rather, her wife's "company") to update the organization's website and manage its newsletters!
http://www.xtra.ca/public/Toronto/Pride_Toronto_financial_statements_show_big_losses-9689.aspx
And, as most of Toronto has just learned, the Executive Director resigned from the organization in response to the uproar this has caused.

Or, rather, the Board of Directors won't say why she resigned because that was part of her resignation contract. But one can definitely make informed guesses.
Actually, you can't if you're a Pride Toronto employee -- not even via social media -- because the Co-Chairs are ordering you not to:

Ryan Murphy is such a pompous ass. Saying Glee is about "arts education" is like saying Jersey Shore is about "Italian-American history."

I actually heard about the 20-year-old mentioned in the Halifax gay robbery case. He picked someone up just across the campus of the university I go to. Thank god they got captured.

I like amount of nova scotia centric stories.
