Rick Santorum: It's 'Common Sense' to Keep Gays from Marrying and Adopting Children

Santorum

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick 'man on dog' Santorum told CNS News in an interview that it's "common sense" to keep gays from marrying and adopting children.

Said Santorum: "This is nature. And what we're trying to do is defy nature because a certain group of people want to be affirmed by society."

  1. But if you think about it, there's all these foster kids and orphans who don't have parents. Then there's a same-sex couple who wants kids and is willing to adopt/foster these kids. I don't see the problem. The kid is being cared for, is kept off the street, and is getting educated. Why does it matter who their parents are?

  2. Vile excuse for a human being. I would lay money down he isn't anywhere near as 'moral' as he purports to be.

  3. You can see the contempt dripping from his lips as he says, "a certain group of people want to be affirmed by society."

Other than psychopaths, what "group of people" DOESN'T want to be affirmed by society"?

  4. It's common sense that rick santorum is an idiot. He's just naturally stupid.

  5. "Common sense is the artificial inflation of the value of meagre knowledge. It’s the intellectual equivalent of ‘having a good personality’. It’s the consolation prize for those too dim to achieve anything beyond remembering to breathe for long enough to reproduce. It’s the same level of earthy wisdom that deems modern art ‘crap’, pure research ‘a waste of time’ and Strictly Come Dancing ‘entertainment’. It’s the undentable armour of the stupid, and you’ll never catch them without it. You take it away from them, they’ve got nothing. They’re left naked in the laughing face of their own inferiority, with no choice but to confront the meandering pointlessness of their lives. Which is a lot to confront all in one go.
They cling to it out of fear. Pity them."

  6. Why isn't it just as much NATURE that I'm attracted to whom I'm attracted to? If anything, NATURE is on OUR side of the argument.

  7. Mr. Frothy Mixture evidences a very poor understanding of Nature, because there is ample evidence of same-sex coupling and same-sex parenting in Nature. And, at this point, you kind of have to be willfully ignorant to not know that.

  8. His whole argument is that gays are unnatural. Aside from the fact that we are a significant percentage of the population and a minority of the population, ergo a naturallly produced segment of the global population, on what does this man base his argument? Superstitious writings of ignorant middle eastern zealots? Grow up and get a therapist, Santorum.

  9. @NYCMRM : I agree........being gay has always been my nature........sex with females is completely unnatural to me.....
I'm just as much a part on nature as any self reproducing sea horse ( if that happens).

This Santorum is just spouting the same bigoted hatred as his master, Pope Ratzie the Nazi, who has said that homosexuals are "defective". The Catholic Church has spread its poison against us everywhere.

But this idiot, Santorum, is a complete failure.....failed politician, failed moralist, failed Fox talking head, and he has ended up trying to claw his way back into sensational tv.

What the F is this, ignoramus of the year competition ?

  11. You know what isn't natural, Mr. Santorum? Bringing your dead baby home from the hospital so your children can play with it like a doll.

  12. He has no argument - he is - like Palin - playing to the cheap seats in America and increasingly smaller venues - soon it will be pig farms -- this is what happens when a person with no real intelligence -- no real character - no decency or dignity -- wants - aches - yearns for the national stage.

Santorum was part of the country's temper-tantrum in 1994 - but could not keep his senate seat -- such is his arrogance, stupidity, and hubris - the good news is that interviews like this show he suspects he will never - ever - win a national office - now it is just about staying relevant - and hopefully getting work on the lecture circuit and Fox Republican News - he pretends that he is serious about running for president - just like Palin - but then, they pretend at so much in their sad unaccomplished lives.

No matter what either of these two bitter angry sad losers may accomplish - they will never get what it is they most want - happiness will always be just out of reach - God does indeed work in mysterious though sometimes entertaining ways - they are losers - and have nothing but contempt for those stupid enough to support them - they are both in a Hell of their own making.

  13. What is CNS? I'm guessing some "christian" network - in which case he's just preaching to the choir. If he said it on CNN I'd be a little more angry.

  14. Once again he chooses language to dehumanize us. It is very easy to deny someone their rights when they are not viewed as human. You know, I don't care for Mr. Santorum. LOL.

  15. Santorum has an unsolvable Google problem. Kudos to Dan Savage, who has made him unelectable.

  16. I wanted to follow Obama's call for civility, then I read this piece of excrement's taunts calling me and my community unnatural. I will try for a couple more days.

  18. I don't care if this f*cked up society affirms me or not. I just want what other people get - no more no less.

  19. His implication that the defiance of nature is somehow bad is a false one. How many things in modern society defy nature? Religion defies nature. Technology defies nature. Our constitution defies nature.

    Blurgh.

  20. Santorum was elected to the senate back in 1994 representing Pennsylvania. He demonstrated he was such a radical member of the right that Pennsylvanians kicked him out of office in 2006.

He is virulently homophobic and his radical Catholic beliefs trumped Science and rationalism in the policies he pushed then, and based on this article his thought processes have not evolved since losing office. Santorum does not accept in the fact that Biologists have found homosexual behavior in hundreds of species, but rather believes that it is unnatural because his interpretation of the Bible says so.

Andy is wise to follow him because he can rally the support of the radical religious right and put the progress we have made in the last few years in serious jeopardy. This man wants to be President and make no mistake about it, he hates gay people. He believes them to be an abomination.

  25. Shocking Santorum is a homophobic bigot! And who is that other clown asking the question- or better yet setting up these idiot answers?
